Food Scene

Great ambiance and the best food in Fairbanks. Also a great place for cocktails. The menu is diverse and unique. The staff is superb. Try the Judy Kay Martini, or ask Larry to whip you up something special. He is a master mixologist and level two sommelier. As for food, the Salad Bleu, Filet medium-rare, and Banana Bread Pudding are my go to's.

Amazing baked goods and great sandwiches. My favorites are the Sweet and Spicy on a spinach wrap, the Veggie Extreme breakfast sandwich, also on a spinach wrap, the Frankenstein Smoothie (green and delicious!), and the Granola Tart. They are famous for their Applesauce Cookies.

Filled with eclectic icons and sports memorabilia. Out in the boonies, but a great place for brunch on Sunday. If you want to feel like a Goldstream local, come and get a drink here and shoot the breeze with some interesting folks, who most likely live in dry cabins. There is also live music on the weekends. My favorite brunch item is the Steak and Eggs. The homemade biscuits and honey butter will blow your mind! I've heard they also serve a mean Bloody Mary.

A staple in the Fairbanks Community. Much like any diner. The service is quick and friendly, the food served hot. Try the Poached Eggs, but make sure to ask for the yolks runny.

A great breakfast spot close to downtown Fairbanks. If you get the homefries, ask for cheese and peppers! The pancakes are really good. Like the pancakes you always hope you get when you go to a diner.

Everything bagel with chive cream cheese. Nough said. Or for those who like a sweet bagel, cinnamon raisin bagel with honey cream cheese. You better just get both.

The owner is a great friend of mine. You won't find a better everything bagel in town. They make authentic New York bagels, kettle boiled. The cream cheese is also made in house. AMAZING!

Drinks & Nightlife

Another amazing, newly added, highly regarded staple of the Fairbanks community. 36 beers on tap, most of them brewed in Alaska. A few taps of soda, cider, and wine are also available for those who don't drink beer. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable. A great spot to see how the locals do. Start your night here and head out on the town!

Fairbanks' premier hippy bar. If your itching to meet some eclectic locals who do Alaska living right, hit this spot up for sure. Live music on the weekends is usually twangy, but a blast all the same.

More fun in the summer, when the outdoor area is open. But, another great local hang out. It's on the river and is a converted boat, hence the name. Not my favorite place in the winter, but a must for summer visitors with some excellent folk, and singer/songwriter concerts happening usually every weekend. Hippys and locals will abound!

Arts & Culture

The collections and galleries are stunning. The museum's architecture is also custom. See if you can figure out what its supposed to be. Make sure you get a picture with the bear!

My favorite gallery in the world and where a majority of the art in my house comes from. This gallery is owned and operated by the artists who fill its walls with their incredible work. Supremely Alaskan! Yumi, Vladimir, and David are must sees!

A great place for a nice walk through the forests that can only be found in the interior of Alaska. Spring and fall are best, as the birds are still present.
