Take a walk to this cafe. It is really worth it, always great food and service.. It's a great breakfast spot or stay fir a long lunch. Ask anyone how to get there. Head towards sunset beach and head right along the beach. It is about a 30 minute walk. You can also bike there.

The Cafe is open every day. You can get good coffee, some basic stables and food. Coffee is pretty great. The even have decent almond milk.
The restaurant is open most nights. It is quite hit and miss. You can wait a while. Just be prepared and hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised.

The whole island is a conservation park. There are so many walks, wildlife and hidden treasures to find. Get lost, then find yourself again in the rainforest. There are many East to West Island walks you can do.

The Surf Beach is kilometre's of pristine white sand and glistening turquoise waters. The beach is not patrolled and most times you will feel that you are on your own private beach.
Head over the sand dunes and dive in. The water even in winter is still around 20 degrees.

Bike around the Island
Bikes can be hired for $10 per day from the resort hire shop. You can't miss it as there are literally hundreds of yellow bikes out the front.
Take a trip to the surf beach our explore the Ecco Village. Head to Tipplers Cafe for a yummy lunch.

From the Yellow House, turn left then onto Surf Beach Road. The walk takes about 30 minutes. The beach is just sensational. Make sure you go!

Sunset Beach for Sunset Drinks
Follow the locals to Sunset Beach for the most sensational sunset over the ocean vista. There is a bar open on weekends. We recommend you use the picnic basket we have provided and pool glassware and take your own drinks and snacks.

Bring an Esky with drinks and food
The house has an amazing kitchen. Here are some meal suggestions:
Use the pizza stone under the BBQ for crisp wood fire style pizzas.
Have a seafood platter on the deck.
Bacon and egg rolls for breakfast.
Use the BBQ for roasting and everything else in between! We do not rely on the resort restaurant for all our meals. Feel free to use the sauces etc in our pantry.

Stand up paddle boarding or kayaking on the lagoon,
You can hire these at the resort hire shop. Paddle up to the Yellow House and for refreshments. So much fun.

Couran Cove is home to amazing wallabies. They are very used to people. You will see them off your deck and all around the island.

Pre Book your Ferry
If you are coming over on the ferry please book it early. This will be really important during school holidays and long weekends. If the ferry is full there is always a water taxi. With a family, the water taxi usually is the cheaper option.

Food and drinks
You will have a beautiful kitchen to cook in. The island is so great for picnics, sitting and enjoying the view. I would suggest that you pack snacks and drinks to go with those moments. The ferry states no alcohol to be bought on ferry. Regulars pack their own alcohol. We use the ferry as residents and bring our own drinks. There is very limited groceries on the island. We suggest packing things for meals.
The house has no oven. There is a weber BBQ on the deck that you can roast, BBQ, grill or even do pizza in.
The house has a range of sauces, spices etc to help make your meals memorable.

Bring a beach trolley
If you have a collapsable beach trolley I would suggest that is a great thing to bring. You can use it to load your things from your car to the ferry. From the ferry to the house. It makes life very easy.

Parking at the Ferry
We suggest that you park in the free public car park across the road from the Mariners Cove Marina. As you approach the Marina turn right at the roundabout. You will see the parking area straight ahead. We park our vehicles there regularly whilst we are on the Island.

Ferry Departures
The ferry leaves from Mariners Cove Marina and takes about 35 minutes to get to Couran Cove. The ferry wharf is on the left hand side of the marina. Head between Hogs Breath Cafe and the hairdressers. Turn left at the fish and chips shop then right. The ferry is at the far end of the jetty. Don't be late as they don't wait. If you do miss the ferry you can still get to the island on a water taxi. Try Cove Water Taxi.
The bottle shop is good at the Marina if you need supplies :)

Staying in a Rainforest
Staying in a sub tropical rainforest is an amazing experience. There are insects during humid and wet weather. Pack mozzie spray and during the wet season a spray jacket is useful. We have some umbrellas at the house for you.
