Sightseeing

Visiting St Andrews Abby can be fun. They have a manmade lake where you can feed the ducks and turtles and Koi fish. Lots of old growth trees and grassy areas to sit and have a picnic. Mass is once a day at noon and there are chairs to sit outside under the trees if you prefer. You can arrange to eat lunch with the monks at 1 pm. But please make your reservations well in advance. Seating is limited.

Dette bør du pakke

Bring food and drinks.

Bring comfort foods and drink, comfortable walking shoes, suntan lotion, binoculars. It is a romantic place so a good bottle of wine could be nice. Even a super cozy cuddle blanket from home. and if you have a dog, make sure he/she has their own sleeping cushion. Small dogs need to be protection from coyotes, bob cats, big owls, etc.
Slik kommer du deg rundt

Having a car or a bicycle are easy ways to get around.

We are located on a sandy, dirt road with a short, windy section to be cautious driving on. But we are only a very short way to the paved road. A lot of bicyclists' rides through Valyermo all the time. We are one of the routes for organized bike rides and races.
