A write up from a local pet shop " Paws up for Porthkidney! 🐾
Nestled between St Ives & Hayle in a quiet corner of St Ives Bay, Porthkidney, also known as Lelant Beach, boasts over a mile of beautiful Golden Sand to enjoy! 🌊
Dog friendly all year round, Porthkidney remains a quieter spot throughout the summer, and at low tide is the perfect spot for your dog to let off some steam.
Backed by glorious Sand Dunes and the St Ives Branch Line, this beach can be found at the mouth of the Hayle River, the perfect place for a paddle, but we always recommend supervision here as the currents can be strong! On the far side of the beach, a quick scramble up the rocks to the coast path will take you over to Carbis Bay, however this beach currently has the Seasonal dog ban in effect, banning dogs between 10am - 6pm; so be sure to plan your walk accordingly.
And when you've finished your walk, a 5 minute drive will take you over to us at the Natural Cornish Pet Shop, to stock up on your dogs favourite food, treats, chews and more! 🙌"
