Islay - a gem of an island...

Islay is known as the Queen of the Hebrides, the pace of life is slower than the mainland, with friendly locals, a multitude of distilleries, stunning beaches and an abundance of wildlife.
A smaller and younger distillery, great whisky and staff. Good for a coffee in the cafe after a windswept walk at Machir Bay. Tours daily throughout the spring, summer, Autumn months.

Great gin, almost at the end of the world! Owned and run by three fantastic ladies, worth a trip to Jura and the drive through unspoilt landscape.

Very handy, just 2 miles away, sells everything from food to boot polish and stamps! They stock a good selection of Scottish produce, including cheeses, Wee Isles mik (in a glass bottle!), smoked fish and meats. A good frozen food section too.
