Nice spot in the middle of Haarlem, around the old Bavo Cathedral, with a lot of bars, restaurants, two theatres and a filmhouse. And in summerdays lovely terrasses.

The Jopenkerk, is a small brewery, with a wide choice of special beers, a restaurant and on a nice square with other reataurants, shops and a cinema. You can take the bus direct from our house to there ( busstop RAAKS). Or park your car in the garage underneath.

Haarlem has it all !!! Musea, theatres, shops, cafe's, restaurants terasses. In the same old setting as Amsterdam but much more quiet and relaxed. And nearby. A direct bus takes you in 15 minutes to Haarlem from right behind our house.
Frans Hals Museum, The Teyler's museum, very nice with childreren. A 'Hofjes tour"to be booked with the tourist board on the central square "de Grote Markt "

It shows in a very nice scenery what Mills meant to Holland in former days. Several mills still working. Plus some restaurants and a good place to buy dutch cheese. From there, you can also take a canaltour.
