Welcome to my very special genuine Shepherds Hut situated in a beautiful hidden valley in the heart of the Cotswolds, off the beaten track but near to many local attractions, gardens and national trust properties. It is also perfectly situated for wonderful walks with a network of footpaths starting from right outside the door and local pubs only a few miles away. A truely cosy retreat in my peaceful private garden.
The hut has a double bed, thick duvet, pillows and wood burning stove to keep you toasty warm. Outside the hut in the garden you'll find a table and chairs. There is a private bathroom with shower, basin and toilet in a converted section of my garden shed close to the hut where there is also a fridge and a microwave for your use. A kettle and teas, coffees and milk are included in the hut. There is WiFi but it isn't always strong in the hut. You are able to use it in the garden on seats nearer the house.

A pretty and private little Cotswold stone bakehouse converted to a bedroom and shower room with beautiful Cotswold views set in rolling farmland on edge of historic hamlet of Hailes. We are right on the Cotswold Way and an ideal stop off after the first leg or walk the myriad of footpaths around us straight from the door. Within easy access of Cheltenham racecourse and the lovely villages of the Cotswolds, the many country pubs or a visit to the amazing Giffords Circus.
The Bakehouse is certainly unique, a quirky ensuite bedroom in the garden, pretty and very comfortable! Set in rolling farmland , this is a rural location with views up to Hailes Wood. The Bakehouse was constructed of beautiful hand cut Cotswold stone on the early 1800's with old hand split roof tiles. Originally used to house the bread ovens for the cottages, the coal house and the privy ! We have furnished the Bakehouse with vintage furniture to create a really attractive individual space with the things I like to find when I go away....white Egyptian cotton bed linen, large fluffy towels, fresh milk, a teapot! some homemade cake, interesting books... Drive up the hill and visit Snowshill Manor and see its extraordinary collections. 6. Wander around Hailes, coffee at Friut Farm Cafe, look around Hailes Abbey and Hailes Church. Wander the footpaths up into Hailes wood to see Farmcote church and the beautiful views over the valley from there hike up to Cromwells Clump! 7. Visit world famous Giffords Circus, a traditional 1930's feelgood experience, eat at circus sauce for some serious fun with the performers! 8. Ride the lovely horses from Stanton ( Jill Carenza Equestrian) over the Cotswold hills, the views are spectacular. Have a drink and relax and look over the valley from The Mount at Stanton afterwards. 9. Drive over the hill to Sudeley Castle ( turn left out of our drive and follow salters lane up the steep hill, looking right over the valley at the castle) and visit the house and gardens, lunch in Winchcombe at The Lion or Food Fanatics deli."

  • Flott opphold på The Bakehouse!

The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
