This beautiful bluestone Adelaide estate home with 4 bedrooms and a tennis court is set in beautiful landscaped gardens, surrounded by soaring gum trees. It has neutral décor, high ceilings, timber & slate floors, stained glass, an all-weather floodlit tennis court, BBQ area & patios for evening drinks & relaxing. To ensure this home meets your needs please read the listing and house rules carefully before booking. The property is for guests only - no parties, functions or events.
Positioned on Glynburn Road at Leabrook, in the heart of Adelaide’s leafy eastern suburbs, this beautiful old Adelaide estate home is set in formal gardens with gum trees on the fence line. This lovely bluestone property was built late in the 19th century and was originally used as a shop, hence its double-fronted layout and position fronting Glynburn Road. It is a beautiful example of the architecture of its time with its neutral décor, high ceilings, timber and slate floors, stained glass, tessellated tile verandah and generous spaces. It has an all-weather floodlit tennis court with a beautiful Chinese Elm framed slate patio for evening drinks and relaxing. A character-sensitive restoration some years ago by the current owner has produced a beautiful, elegant and very comfortable but unpretentious home with a comfortable lounge, conservatory-style meals area, elegant formal dining room, 4 bedrooms, a timeless white kitchen and 2 bathrooms (the main bathroom is huge)! The house is well equipped with ducted reverse cycle air-conditioning and some ceiling fans, new oven and fridge and Miele front-loading washer and Hoover tumble dryer. The large Sony flat-screen television is connected to a Bose sound system. Parking is in the single carport (with kitchen access) at the side of the house, with two further parking spaces available in the driveway behind the automatic driveway gates. Although the front windows are double-glazed, the front rooms still experience some noise from Glynburn Road during high traffic times, which is inaudible in the living room at the back of the house. Please note carefully: the house is NOT suitable for crawling infants or toddlers/young children due to the drop and stairs between the lounge room and the conservatory and between the outdoor patio and the lawns. There is also a step down into the fourth bedroom and up into the kitchen from outside. This home is a wonderful example of traditional Adelaide eastern suburbs classic architecture which has not been overdone by a sleek, ‘plastic’ renovation and papering over the minor cracks. At Hollywood Tree House you have the entire home to yourself. The home is approximately 700 squares on a nice size property, complete with pool and glorious balcony views over Adelaide. The home is contemporary but cosy. There are 5 big bedrooms all complete with King and Queen size beds. Two of the bedrooms have ensuites, the other 3 bedrooms have private bathrooms. There is a home theatre and a games room complete with pool table, air hockey table and a bar. The kitchen/Meals/Living area is open plan and central complete with a beautiful open fire place for cold winter nights. There is an extensive outdoor 3 level decking/entertaining area at the rear of the home complete with outdoor fireplace and a swimming pool. The front of the home has extensive balconies complete with a dining area, lounge area and informal sitting areas. The view from this space is why our home is called Hollywood Tree House...it feels like you are perched up high in a tree house overlooking all of Adelaide's beautiful natural surroundings. Located in the prestigious suburb of Burnside you are 2 minutes from Burnside Village (Fashion/brand shopping), 5 minutes from The Parade (trendy café/restaurant strip) and 10 minutes from the city centre. Perfect location for a glorious Adelaide visit. There is a double garage for parking which leads internally in to the home and there is atleast another 2 car parking available on the property as well as parking on the street if needed.
Burnside is considered one of the most prestigious suburbs in Adelaide. That being said our neighbours are not at all snobby, infact quite the opposite. They are welcoming and friendly, although you will rarely see them as all our properties are quite large and secluded from each other. We live in a little cul-de-sac which makes the location even more quiet and private. It really is the perfect little hideaway...yet still so close to the hustle and bustle of the city if you want that too. The best of both worlds.

    Swaine House was built in1900as part of the original development of Rose Park by the South Australia Company. It was constructed in the classic Adelaide-villa style, with freestone facing and wrought-iron lacework detailing on the verandah. The original structure consisted of six main rooms, which are now utilised as four beautifully styled bedrooms, a sitting room and a family bathroom.
    The house was extensively renovated and extended over the course of 2014 and 2015, when the family bathroom was remodelled and a walk-in robe and ensuite were added to the master bedroom. The original features of the property were retained, including plaster detailing on the ceilings and the original skirting boards. An open-plan kitchen, dining, living and outdoor area was constructed to the rear of the original dwelling, with a ceiling height that reflects the proportions of the original structure. The house effectively combines the original character with modern amenities, and is heritage-listed as an original residence, contributing to the heritage value of the area.
    You are a short distance from the city centre and also a 5 minute drive to Burnside Village, which is the shopping hub of the Eastern Suburbs. Take a drive up the South Eastern Freeway to visit Mount Lofty where you can see all the beautiful views over Adelaide, or continue on to Hahndorf to experience the historical "German Town" feel. A short walk would also see you experiencing the city fringe parklands and the Old Victoria Park race-track, or the local feel of the Dulwich Bakery and White Picket Cafe.
