⭐️Tea Tasting in DTLA Fashion District⭐️
What we'll do:
Join Jesus Chaidez, local tea expert, for an afternoon of tea tasting at his tea bar in the fashion district. We will sample signature teas from around the world and learn about their history and the best ways to brew them. You will get an introduction to loose leaf tea and different brewing methods that will improve the way you brew tea at home. We will explore brewing tea in the "gong fu cha" method using special "yixing" tea pots and gaiwans. Our beautiful tea bar has several teas in stock that we will use to tell the story of tea. We will also sample some of our own special blends that we've developed here at our tea bar that we use to dye some of our organic garments with. In order to sit quietly at peace with your tea I feel its essential to understand it first. Where is it from? How was it fired? Whats the best brewing method for this particular tea? I can't promise you, you will become an expert in 2 hours but I will try to demystify the world of loose leaf tea and make it more accessible by walking you through its rich history.

Sip whiskey at a bar within a bar
What we'll do:
Join me for a Whiskey Society - Invite Only evening at Bar Jackalope: an exclusive, intimate, bar-within-a-bar! We'll skip the line, enter the secret door to the dimly lit bar, which is modeled after Japanese whisky lounges, then settle into leather banquettes and sip a classic cocktail (options include a Japanese twist on a mid-century fave!) while a turntable spins a classic jazz record. We'll taste three complimentary drams from my personal bottles of "the water of life." These bottles are from Bar Jackalope's proprietary barrels, which means there are only 160-200 bottles in the world of these particular expressions. Meanwhile, I will share my knowledge about whisk(e)y including how to nose and taste and to "e" or not to "e"! You'll also have the opportunity to purchase additional whisk(e)y flights and drams of rare and unique spirits from Bar Jackalope's extensive whisk(e)y list. Let's whiskey! Other things to note: -- You must be 21+ to participate in the Whiskey Society - Invite-Only Experience. You will not be admitted without identification, which will be checked at the street entrance. IMPORTANT! Los Angeles County is requiring PROOF OF VACCINATION to enter all bars and restaurants. There is NO EXCEPTION to this rule. If you show up without proof of vaccination, you will not be admitted and your ticket will not be refunded.

Guidet historietur i Los Angeles
Lost and Long-Gone Graveyards of L.A.
What we'll do:
Learn about life, death, demographics, and geographical expansion in early Los Angeles as we explore the history of the city's earliest efforts to dispose of the dead. Los Angeles in the 19th century was a Wild West town filled with illness, violence, and mystery. From the start, city and church officials were never able to keep up with the city's population, living or dead. You'll participate in a discussion of burial practices, explore the stories of those interred therein, and learn about the vital role these areas played as city parks. You'll also hear how the perception of cemeteries transitioned from a source of public pride to a form of public nuisance, including the city's slapdash efforts to disinter the bodies of thousands of pioneering Angelenos in the name of progress. Other things to note You will receive our exact meeting location in your ticket confirmation. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothes. This is a 2.5 mile walking tour.
