Perched on top of a hill of a private, 2 acre lot in historic Wake Forest, this one of a kind, Victorian inspired home built in 2008 exudes luxury, warmth and understated elegance. Experience Southern living with its' inviting wrap around porch, a covered patio and a dreamy turret. Nothing is missed in this home. The area is surrounded by high end, custom homes . Enjoy the songs of nature, dine al fresco by the porch with flowers from the garden, dance under the stars or moonlit night!
This home, custom built back in 2008, was a result of Mom wanting a wrap around porch and I wanting a turret, a circular room with lots of windows. Never did it occur to me that we would end up in a Victorian style home. I come from a huge family, having a son and being the oldest of 8 siblings who are all married with children and our 80 yr old Mom. It is not unusual for a Filipino family to stay close to each other. Right after this home broke ground in July 2007, the real estate market went down. Well, I am a Realtor and one can only imagine what happened after that. I thank God for my big family, this home became our refuge.
And a beautiful refuge it has been. Other than the daily comforts this home offers, so many wonderful memories have been built here, from birthdays, siblings engagements and weddings, clients appreciation to dancing in the moonlight parties. Watching the cherry blossoms and azaleas in spring come up, hummingbirds feasting on bee balm flowers, monarchs & sparrow tails feeding on the butterfly bush from the comfort of the spacious wrap around porch is a joy sure to warm your heart. We even have bougainvilleas hanging from the porch, banana trees and taro roots to remind us of our tropical origins. Squirrels running about the yard, dragonflies chasing each other, fireflies dancing around at night, crickets, cicadas and the daily avian songs giving you a feel like you’re in a bird sanctuary reminds one of how beautiful and precious life is. To be in the midst of Mother Nature and man's ingenuity and be surrounded by family and friends allows you to reminisce a life back in the days, sitting on the rocking chair, telling stories and enjoying life.
As the ebb and flow of life happens, the family wants to spread out again and have their own homes. Instead of selling the home, I have decided to put it on Airbnb so not just one family but more can enjoy this home. Milestone birthdays, families coming in for a wedding, graduation celebration, a full week of Thanksgiving and Christmas vacations, retreats, business meetings and corporate stays would be a perfect way to enjoy this home.
Villa Banika perfectly expresses a luxurious, yet casual lifestyle. The sculptural facade and expansive verandas create an image of comfort and warm welcome. Upon entry, you are greeted with a dramatic 80-foot view axis through the rotunda to the family room fireplace. The convenient circular floor plan provides easy access to the den and formal living room, while connecting the kitchen and formal dining via the butler’s pantry. Connecting one from the family living areas to the outdoors is the covered outdoor dining and BBQ porch. The rotundas circular staircase leads to the spacious master suite retreat. A guest suite, two other suites sharing the turret and a large media room with popcorn kitchen complete the upper floor. Villa Banika's traditional beauty highlights a floor plan designed for flexible family living, winning Best of Show honors at the 2003 Seattle Street of Dreams (17 out of 22 awards) and a 2004 Best of American Living (BALA) award.
This home is for those with discerning tastes, wanting nothing but comfort and luxury. You will enjoy this beautiful home as much as I and my family have. This home has been filled with nothing but love.
"A home is not where you live, but where you love."
The home sits on an independent 2 acre land. It is not part of a subdivision. It still feels country, remote but high end subdivisions are coming up around it.
