Aberffraw - Welcome to the true capital of Wales! On the surface Aberffraw is a small, quiet village on the west coast of Anglesey at the mouth of the gently flowing River Ffraw renowned for its spectacular sand dunes and immense stretch of sandy beach. The village of today, however, sits on the site of a medieval ‘llys’ or princely court, born out of the Royal House of Aberffraw from which Llywelyn Fawr or Llywelyn the Great, descended. Llywelyn was the de facto ruler of all Wales, dominating Wales for 40 years. There is no denying the historical importance of the House of Aberffraw with many local places and names still bearing reference to this. Today Aberffraw is a peaceful and immensely scenic get-away-from-it-all village. Set right on the Coastal path, it is a walkers paradise with plenty of options for all abilities. Follow the path down the estuary and you will see birdlife of all kinds. Where the river meets the sea, you will enjoy endless views of the sea, mountains, Bardsey island and the Llyn Penninsula beyond. A walk in the other direction and you may see cattle grazing gently in the heathland, as you head over the impressive sand dune range to ‘Traeth Mawr’, literally ‘big’ or ‘great’ beach with its endless sands, this has been called the Sahara of Wales! The village boasts a fantastic pub ‘Y Goron’ or ‘The Crown’, which serves hearty, home-cooked food. The village shop is on hand for all the essentials and the thriving tea-rooms at Llys Llywelyn will make sure you will need to get walking, after you sample their home-cooked food and endless cakes! Built in the 7th century, the church now stands on the islet of Cribinau separated from the mainland by years of coastal erosion. The cove in which the church sits, is a gentle walk of about a mile from Aberffraw village. If the village doesn’t offer you enough history, the nearby Neolithic burial chamber of Barclodiad y Gawres is a must see, not just for the history and heritage but the location, surrounding walks and views are stunning. Walkable along the coastal path, it lies about 4 miles from Aberffraw, or a short drive of 2 miles will bring you to a parking spot from where it is a 5-10 minute, fairly level walk by narrow path. Further afield the larger village of Rhosneigr is about 4 miles away by road, 7 miles if you take on the coast path – trust us, you won’t be disappointed. There is also a daily, regular bus service for those who don’t want to walk back! Whatever your plans for your Anglesey holiday, you will not fail to be charmed by the historic, proud and immensely scenic little Welsh gem that is Aberffraw.

Only a 4 minute walk to the Menai Strait water front, our scandi-nautical studio is the ideal spot from which to discover Anglesey and Snowdonia. Only 2 miles from the popular village of Menai Bridge offering a range of bars and eateries, and 3.8 miles from the historic town of Beaumaris, with plentiful pastimes such as the castle, Janet Bell Gallery, cafes and shops a plenty. If attending an event at Chateux Rhianfa, we are just a short 4min walk away. So no need for taxis.
The studio sleeps 2 comfortably, a cot or Moses basket can be offered, but wouldn’t leave much room for manoeuvre. And for a less comfortable stay, the sofa is large enough to sleep on and extra bedding available at an extra fee. An information book is left for you to muse, which will give you a small idea of what the area has to offer. Dogs are very welcome, but because of the size of the apartment have a policy of 1 large dog or up to 2 small dogs. The back yard is enclosed and 100% safe so you could leave the back door open without worrying about your fur baby.
We are situated across the road from the Menai Strait and a short 4 min walk will get you to the water front with magnificent views of Bangor university and the Menai Suspension Bridge.

Friendly village setting with level walk to the beach in stunning Snowdonia, this one-bedroomed self contained apartment has off road parking, private entrance & is a 2 minute walk from the main line railway stop. Bus connections 5 min walk. Nearest pub under 5 min yet this is an idyllic spot with own private patio & views towards the sea. Dog friendly (max 2 dogs). All on 1 level with features to aid those with reduced mobility. NB: Step down from driveway then up 1 step to main entrance.
Everyone tells me the photos don't do it justice! Apparently it is much larger than the pics make it look. With patio doors opening to a spacious private enclosed patio (fenced all round to contain dogs & very sheltered) and a private entrance it's ideal for anyonelooking for a peaceful break away from it all. Inside is light and modern with all 4 rooms on 1 level. The bathroom has a double-sized walk-in shower with rails & seat for anyone not so hot on their pins. There's also a bathtub as well as loo and basin. The bedroom is huge. The bed has a comfortable double bed and dressing area with 2 wardrobes full of hangers. Extra bedding is supplied in case you need it although you have control of the heating thermostat. There's an electric real flame effect stove in the lounge for cosiness in cooler weather and to top up the heating should you need it. The dining table can seat up to 4 and the kitchen is fully equipped should you feel like cooking! We try to provide all those extras such as kitchen towel, foil and so on. If you have specific requirements and you're not sure whether it's supplied just ask! There is a Spar and a great newsagent/ Post Office in the village, less than 10 mins walk up the lane. PS: It's the Welsh Sausage Champion!
"Where the mountains meet the sea" describes this stunning corner of Snowdonia. A paradise for walkers wishing to explore the national park on our doorstep, stunning sandy beaches stretch for miles (and yes, there is a nudist beach allocated less than a mile from here) but did you know there is an airfield offering pleasure flights in the neighbouring village of Llanbedr? The countryside here is simply breathtaking: panoramic vistas on Moelfre, the pudding-basin hill overlooking Dyffryn Ardudwy and natural woodlands heaving with mosses, oaks and glacial boulders. Backing the village, the Rhinogs hill range offers miles of unspoilt landscape accessible to walkers. Within the village a significant proportion of buildings are built from huge blocks of local stone and Welsh slate. In the immediate area are ancient burial chambers, churches dating back many centuries, a brand spanking new art gallery as well as 2 cafes, 2 pubs, 2 convenience stores, a fuel station & 2 garages; even 2 forms of public transport: buses and trains! We are, guess what? A 2 minute walk from the railway station! With so much going on you wouldn't believe how quiet it is in our peaceful annexe.

Harlech is in the southern part of Snowdonia National Park, it sits amongst beautiful surroundings with a 15th century castle at it's heart. The flat is part of a small 1970's estate of flats and houses. It is a modern refurbished flat with large, open plan kitchen and living room, a bedroom with twin beds and bathroom. The sofa bed in the sitting room quickly converts to a roomy and comfortable double bed. One of the best beaches in Wales is 3 minutes by car, 10 to 15 minutes walk.
This is an ideal place for walkers with any number of walks close by which can be to beaches, mountains, lakes, rivers or forests, (I am happy to advise). There are also many mountain bike trails, zip wires and giant trampolines in the old quarries. If your tastes are for something less strenuous there are castles, gardens, the famous village of Porthmeirion (15minute drive), narrow gauge railways, market towns and gentle strolls on the beach with beautiful sunsets, an excellent golf course is a very short walk from the property.
From the bedroom window you can just about see Harlech castle; a ten minute walk up a steep hill will bring you to the castle and the village where there are shops, cafes and restaurants. There is a general grocery store a 5 minute walk away on flat ground. (Turn right on the main road.) The garage over the road sells a few basics. Harlech beach is one of the finest in Wales, it is a ten to fifteen minute walk or three minutes in the car.

How cool is the Treehouse! This is an ultra-modern, steel and timber extension to a historic Art Deco-style country house. The home has been created to make the most of wonderful views. Sit and enjoy an evening drink while the sun sets over the Conwy estuary and sinks behind Conwy castle and the mountains beyond. If the weather’s a little better you can explore the owner’s beautiful gardens and some interesting artistic artefacts too. An artist who spent a year here created a hand-painted mural near the house featuring animals and birds the artist saw visiting the gardens during their stay. This memorable bolthole makes clever use of every inch of space, so although there is no bedroom the sofa easily converts to an oh-so-comfortable double bed. The kitchen area is brilliantly concealed in a cupboard and comes with all the equipment you need to cook a nice evening meal. That’s if you ever dine in - there are so many wonderful places to eat out nearby. If you do spend the evening in you’ll be able to enjoy the full package of programmes available on Sky TV. Located just outside the estuarial village of Glan Conwy, The Treehouse is within easy driving distance of Llandudno, Queen of Welsh Resorts, the UNESCO world heritage site of Conwy and even closer to Bodnant Gardens, its wonderful Welsh Food Centre, and many country lane strolls. Bedrooms: There is no dedicated bedroom as such but a very comfy and easy to use sofa that can be turned into a double bed. Bathrooms: One bathroom with loo, sink, and bath with shower and screen. Kitchen: The kitchen is actually a cupboard but all is there in small but perfect form! Oven / microwave, fridge, electric hob, toaster and kettle. Sitting Room: Comfy seating for all guests, TV, DVD. Dining: There is a small table and chairs in the sitting room Garden: A gorgeous garden with ponds, and little private places to sit and read. The RSPB bird sanctuary is just a few minutes flight away and some of the birds love a good day trip to the garden at St Francis’ Grange. Heating: The Treehouse is heated by central heating. Parking: There is off road parking in a private parking area close to the house. Amenities: Bed Linen Towels, Terrace, heating, Free Wireless Internet, Pets are welcome, Free cot on request, Free Parking; Living room: double sofa bed; Bathroom

'Glocsen' is a large and airy flat, set over 3 floors in a quirky Grade II listed building. It is a 2 minute walk from Caernarfon Castle, 5 minutes from the Welsh Highland Railway Station and just off the Town Square. Homely, vintage, clean townhouse.
'Glocsen' is Welsh for clog - the building used to be 'The Holland Arms' Pub, and at another time it was the town's Shoe Shop. It is a Grade II listed building. The property is a first floor flat, with an exterior staircase up to the front door. The flat itself is set over 3 floors. It is in a great location for seeing Caernarfon - it is just across the town square from Caernarfon Castle itself, right in the centre of the town. You can even see a glimpse of the Menai Straits from the top floor window! Literally a 2 minute walk to the Castle, 2 minute walk to the sea front & the Menai Straits, and a 5 minute walk to the Welsh Highland Railway. Lots of cafes, restaurants & bars to explore. Buses depart from the next street to Snowdon & all local destinations. The flat is bright, homely & clean. It has 2x double bedrooms, both with double beds. Lots of space to relax in and comfy leather sofas. There is a super fast business broadband WiFi connection. Bath towels are provided and the beds are all freshly made up ready for your arrival. We welcome families, but the stairs are not well suited to toddlers, pushchairs or wheelchairs! We can provide a travel cot for little ones. We are happy for cyclists to keep their bikes in the flat while they stay. We don't mind triathletes with all their kit! We welcome everyone to our comfortable townhouse flat, in an ideal central location!
Located in a wonderfully historic town, with the Medieval Castle to explore, a sea front promenade, rare sea birds a few minutes walk along the sea front, the river Seiont meeting the Menai Straits, restaurants around the harbour full of boats, the Swing Bridge beside the Castle, boats trips from the sea front...and the whole of surrounding Snowdonia to explore too!

Located in the grounds of the court of Prince Llewellyn the ancient ruler of Wales, ‘Cwfyan’s House’ lies within a traditional stone built complex. Thanks to the clever layout and styling of this property each of the beds is as far from the living space as possible so those having an early night can rest easy even if the others are still up discussing the day over a Gin & Tonic. The open plan living, kitchen dining area maximises the light and space, with the multi-aspect windows, offers rural glimpses from all sides. A hidden away small utility area has a washing machine to take care of all your holiday laundry without disturbing you. Please note that once a booking has been accepted we will reach out and ask for your personal email address. Airbnb creates an unique email address for all correspondence, however it blocks any emails with attachments therefore we have been unable to send access and directions to allow customers to find and enter the property. We seek your personal email address to avoid this and to ensure smooth communications and a stress-free break with us on Anglesey.
Set within the Llys Llewelyn heritage and accommodation complex there is ample parking, a hair and beauty salon for your holiday pampering and a thriving café and tea room, offering home-cooked food throughout the day. Ty Cwfan –is an ideal retreat a family or group of friends offering the perfect base within the village, for investigating historical Aberffraw, heading to the beach or exploring the wider sights of Anglesey. This property forms part of the Llys Llewellyn cluster which includes 7 properties in total allowing for a very flexible arrangement to accommodate larger groups of friends or extended family.
The village shop is on hand for all the essentials and the thriving tea-rooms at Llys Llywelyn will ensure you are well fuelled for walking, with their home-cooked food and endless cakes! The Church in the Sea, or St Cwfan’s church is another must-see hidden gem. Built in the 7th century, the church now stands on the islet of Cribinau separated from the mainland by years of coastal erosion. Against the odds this beautiful little church stands proud and bravely on a rock, and is quite a sight to behold. Church services are held regularly in the summer months, with occasional weddings and Christenings, all of course romantically dictated by the tides!
