We believe The Coach House dates back to the Tudor period, to around 1500 and was the original Coach House to what was Peachley Farm which is now our home, 'Peachley House', a Grade II listed building dating back over 400 years.
The Coach House is a fabulous, historical, tranquil space full of timbers and atmosphere but we've ensured that areas such as the kitchen and bathroom have a modern, clean feel.
Behind your own front door, the space is on two levels with a modern dining kitchen and bathroom on the ground level. The beautiful, spacious, vaulted timbered first floor loft is a large open plan area containing a comfy double bed and a large king size sofa bed, Smart flat screen TV with freeview channels.
There is also a sofa bed in the kitchen so you can comfortably sit in the downstairs area. This can be used as an extra bed if required for a 5th guest (see additional charge for 5th guest) Please mention at booking.
Your stay includes heating in colder months, constant hot water, fresh towels and white cotton bedding, a flat screen TV with freeview channels, Netflix etc, DVD player, iPhone/docking station for music, DAB radio, free Wi-Fi and kitchen basics such as tea and coffee.
Upstairs, the bed is a comfy double and the second is a king sized sofa bed, there is also a wardrobe and chest of drawers for storage.
For Our Younger Guests -
I can provide a travel cot and high chair for younger guests - please message me before arrival. There is a permanent wooden stair gate at the top of the stairs which will allow your little ones to roam around upstairs without fear of them taking a fall.
I am also happy to arrange a selection of toys to keep young children occupied, just mention it at booking.
The Coach House is located in the small, pretty, rural village of Lower Broadheath, famous for being the birthplace of Sir Edward Elgar, the English composer. Our village houses 'The Firs' his birthplace museum, recently taken over by The National Trust and sits within the 'Elgar route'.
Our village boasts two pubs: a nice, family run country garden pub, great for kids! - The Bell Inn (10 minutes walk). A further 5 minute walk away gives you The Dewdrop Inn, more of a restaurant, offering bistro style dining. Both get extremely busy and last minute availability on Fridays and Saturdays is very limited, so please let me book ahead for you - just mention it via airbnb messaging. Both don't serve food after 8pm on a Sunday.
If you don't mind a short drive, The Crown Inn in Hallow, 5 mins drive away, is fabulous.
We have also recently opened a village Community Shop (Feb 2019) funded by the villagers and run by volunteers - for all your essentials and a cup of tea for a modest donation!
There is a Tesco Express with cash point less than 2 miles away at Henwick Park, as well as a fish and chip shop, hair salon and launderette.
There is an abundance of walks and bike trails locally to include The Severn Way and Worcestershire Way and walks beside the Severn and the Teme. Malvern and its Hills are a 20 minute drive away.
There are also lots of local fishing pools locally, the closest being at The Cobhouse, 1.5 miles away.
Currandine Barn wedding venue is very close to us (4.5 Miles). Over the years, we have provided accommodation to many guests attending weddings there.
