“Good wholesome mainly locally sourced food. The owners Simon and Sam are wonderful hosts and will happily adjust the menu slightly to suit you. Serving lunch and dinner or you can just stay for nibbles and drinks at the bar. A children's menu is available and also wonderful ice cream to take away. In the conservatory is an array of local gifts and produce to buy and if you suddenly realise that you are out of wine, you can usually buy a bottle to take home. ”

“The Inn on the Shore in Downderry in located just off the beach in Downderry and about 5 minutes away from the cottage. A great little stop off if you fancy a cheeky beer or coffee after a walk on the beach. Serving a good selection of Cornish ale and pub food, definitely worth a visit, if only for the views. Child and dog friendly (as is the beach).”

Point of Interest
“Wonderful beach for children, full of rock pools to explore at low tide. It is a wonderfully charming spot when the small fishing boats are out on the water. Lots of local children frequent this beach and the best swimming spot is usually where the boats are moored. People tend to kayak and windsurf between Downderry and Seaton to the right and Portwrinkle to the left. There is no lifeguard presence on this beach. You may spot local surfers here (usually in the winter months)...shh...this is a local secret.”

“This beach is the most 'Dog friendly' beach there is. It has a dog friendly beach cafe. Excellent place to tire out the hound.”

“The nearest beach and always a favourite. A good pub overlooking the beach for both liquid and more substantial Sustenance A walk along the beach to Seaton brings you to a Nature Reserve Valley, a fine beach cafe and a small but great wine bar to watch the sungodown ”
