“Since 1357, the Paris City Hall has been the seat of the Paris municipality. The current building, in neo-renaissance style, was rebuilt by the architects Théodore Ballu and Edouard Deperthes on the site of the old Hôtel de Ville, burnt down during the Paris Commune in 1871. It is possible to visit the Town Hall, place of power and prestige. Guided tours, by reservation, are organized by the Protocol Service. The visitor discovers in particular the Salle des Fêtes, designed as a replica of the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles. Large free exhibitions are also organized and are very successful.”

“The treasures of the museum retrace the history of techniques, from the sixteenth century, in seven fields: scientific instruments, materials, construction, communication, energy, mechanics and transport. It is the old abbey of Saint-Martin-des-Champs which serves as a showcase for the collections, presented chronologically. The visitor thus discovers a charming automaton from 1784, La Joueuse de tympanon, the unavoidable Pendule de Foucault (1851) or even an airplane from 1897. The visit ends… in the Arts et Métiers metro station, inspired by Jules' Nautilus Verne.”

“It is one of the biggest pharmacies in Paris! And hopefully the only that is ALWAYS open. And best thing: you could walk there , it will take 10min! Take the Boulevard Saint Denis heading at your left, towards Place de Republique.”

“Here once stood the Temple Prison where Louis XVI was imprisoned. The place was then destroyed by Napoleon but you can see a plaque on the wall of the town hall of the 3rd arrondissement.”

“I feel like all the cool people in Paris come here to practice yoga, and it’s conveniently located in the hip Marais. At the 8 am Rise session, you’re bound to meet very talented and famous actors, journalists, and fashion designers—like Gaspard Yurkievich—who live close to the studio. You may want to shower before networking in the lounge afterwards. This is hot yoga, after all.”
