History of Rotterdam – private tour
HISTORY OF ROTTERDAM During this tour, my goal is to show you how Rotterdam’s unique history shaped the city. I will cover the history from roughly 1300 onward: from the birth and development of the city, to its destruction in 1940, and how Rotterdam rose from its ashes to become the intriguing city it is today. To enhance your understanding, I will bring along several (historic) maps and also touch upon Dutch history and culture in general. PRIVATE WALKING TOUR In 3 hours, we will traverse the city center by foot: from pre-war parts that survived the bombing, to reconstructed and newer areas. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a local or new to the city. This is a private tour, which allows me to cater exactly to your needs and prior knowledge of Rotterdam and the Netherlands. Other things to note If you want to book for a group, feel free to contact me for discounts. If the date or time of your choice is not available, please send me an inquiry.
Hike & Bite Food Tour
On this tour you will get to taste a great variety of bites and hear amazing stories about Dutch history and culture. Of course we will be eating bitterballen and herring, but we will also be sampling Indonesian delicacies and tasting craft beer. Not to mention the best poffertjes and some vegan delicacies as well. On the way your professional local guide will regale you with tales of the city. Important: this tour ends in a different place from the starting point, namely on a terrace on the Veerlaan in Katendrecht.
Pottery Workshop for Beginners
What can you expect during a pottery workshop? You will be introduced to creating pots on the wheel. You do not need any experience with clay for the workshop! Different topics are discussed: centering, making a pot and information about the firing process. At the end of the workshop you choose your two favorite pots. These must be dried and fired twice in a special ceramic kiln. This process takes several weeks. When your pots are ready I will contact you and you can pick up the pots. Are you not from The Hague? Then I can also send them to you for the shipping costs! The workshop will be given in my home studio in The Hague and will be given one on one or in groups of two. If you are traveling by public transport it is only 15 minutes from The Hague Central Station or Station Hollands Spoor. From both stations you can take tram 16 or 17 going to "Wateringen" after around 5 stops (8 minutes) you step out at "Lorentzplein" and from there it is a 5 minute walk to my studio.

How to Create A Handmade Leather Wallet
We will start the workshop with a warm welcome in my home and a coffee/tea. I will then explain to you all about leathercrafting and the steps we will take during the workshop. In the workshop, you will each be provided with a piece of leather and all tools necessary for making your specific leathercraft. Together, we will work step by step, me helping resolve any issues that you may have throughout the process, assuring you pay special attention to all the little yet important details necessary for creating a perfect piece. In the end, I will teach you how to carve your name or initials on leather, so you could create your own personalized brands on your unique products! You will always leave the workshop with a handmade genuine leather product. What you will take home depends on which option you choose (same price): 1) You will design and create your own product during the workshop. You can choose your leather from a wide variety of leather hide/pieces. You will take this product home! 2) You will go home with a product I created before (see pictures). During the workshop, we will work on a trial piece of leather and follow all the steps as in option 1. The difference is that you will go home with a more professional, ‘complicated’ product (think about extra layers, zippers, pockets, lock mechanisms, reinforced handles). NOTE: This wallet workshop may take up to 2 hours

Gin tasting in a craft distillery
Each gin tasting experience lasts about 45 minutes. My distillery is small and bijou, so its like walking into someones home.... but with a bar and a still! What I cover in the tasting is how I set up the distillery, how I make gin and then we will taste each of the four gins and I will make you a gin and tonic of your favourite one. I encourage you to be inquisitive, to be curious and ask questions. The tasting experiences are always run in small groups so we can take our time and explore.
