Everything you need of Oslo-sightseeing, and central Oslo in short distance, charming appartment with two different terrasses.

Stedet
NEw ADRESS (Same place, that officially changed the adress) «
Magnus Bergs gate 8 A» is the new adress.

5 min walk to bus 30 that takes you to Viking ship museum, Kon-tiki museum and Norwegian Folk museum as well as the Huk beach-area. (5 bus stops) 2 min walk to famous Viegelandpark and large park-area. Also 2 min walk to public transportation that will take you down town (3 stops) and to closest metro. Super sentral in this way. Appartment situated in Frogner old town area, uptown with beautiful old buildings and clean friendly safe neigboorhood. From the roof terasse you view the Holmenkollen ski jump as well as other roofs nearby, and the evenings are moderately silent, with innercity noises but never noisy.

GENERAL INFO BEFORE COMING TO MY FLAT, IN ADREASS: MAGNUS BERGS GATE 8 A (Not Frognerveien 46 B, the whole building changed the address)

-At the rooftop, theplanks are free of paint/prepared, due to maintainance that has not been completed. Everything else is there, like to view, the good atmosphere, and the hammock. It’s not as newly painted as the pics other places than the roof.
-Feel free to borrow the blankes in the blue bag in the hallway, and the slippers hanging near by, when you are outside. (Or inside)
-At the bathroom you will find you towels. They are yellow or blue. There are some white small towels, that are a bit thicker, they are used to put your feet on, after showering. This way you avoid wet floor.
-In the master bedroom, I always have an extra mattress protector, on top of the upper mattress, when I am hosting. This is always clean, and changed in between guests. In the small bedroom the beds are not used this often, so the beds have no extra protection.
-Remember to bring a «sleep mask» to use for the light nights in spring/summer/autom in Norway. I have some curtains in the bedrooms, but the flat is naturally very light, so I use a mask my self and recommend it for guests.
-Feel free to use the coffee/the put out. If there is milk in the fridge, this is left for you, to put in your the or coffee. Its always safe to drink this. Remember that you can drink water from tap in Norway, and also remember there is a supermarked 1 minute from me, that is open till 23 pm, and 21 pm saturays. Sundays closed, but then there is a smaller on open, next to the «Elisenberg» bus stop. (Se check in instructions, and pictures in my hostprofile)
-If there is a clotheshorse with bed linens and towels put ut, just take out what you need, and place the horse in my hallway.
-Remember to read ALL the house rules when you arrive my flat.
-And ask me if you have specific sightseeing tips, and I will try to answer.

Gjestetilgang
The appartment has a large (white painted by my selv) TV and dvd-player as well as internet and a CD-player. Speakers for minijack connecting to other music devices. Mac-charger in livingroom for newer mac in case you forget. Fully equiped kithcen, not to large kitchen area but all you need. A generous selection of Harney and sons tea selections, as my friend import the brand and I am an eager customer. Loced in shower with space and washing mashine in my lovely 90-ties bathroom. It does it for me, so I guess you will enjoy. The all over impression of the appartment is usually "wow" when new guests arrive, so I promise the place will make your stay relaxing, joyful, inspirational and also allows you to have guests in the many socieal places with alot of seating, compared to the size with is only 59 square meter. (180 square feet) The roof terasse is huge, and has a hammock, a dining table and chairs for 15 people and a gas barbeque-grill. It was reasonebly renovated. I have blowdryer, iron-kit, even a small ladder if should be useful.

Andre ting det er verdt å merke seg
The only negative thing to notice, is that the appartment. is situated on the 5 th. floor with no elevator. I recomend that someone handy carry heavy luggage and/or I can assist. It is no job that cannot be executed by less strong people, but if there is a lot of heavy luggage, be prepared that it is a small work out on it´s own. (But fortunately a once-manouvered action..)

Oslo, Norge

EASY GUIDE TO OSLO:
(All locations can be googlet to find adress, and than plotted in to the public transportation app, to find the easiest way with public transportation. Short distanses, and easy access with pub. Transport)

Must do:
Walk around the Opera house (Metro stop Oslo Sentral Station), and than walk west along the coast/harbour. Than you will pass all the saunas, you will pass the foodcort Vippa, the old fortress, and while you walk you will view the other side of the harbour. After 15 minuters you end up by the City Hall (still down town) and here you also have the ”Aker Brygge” area, with restaurants and shops. And from here you can take the fjordcruises and public boats out in the fjord. If you keep walking, you will enter another restaurant area and the Astrup Fernely museum. If you than keep walking 15 minutes, you will enter the beginning of the Bygdøy pininsula (a large roundabout by the highways), where you can walk further on to the iceland, or jump on buss nr. 30 a few stops to get to the museums in Bygdøy.

The basics:
The Sculpture park (Viegelands parken)
The Munch museum
The Holmenkollen ski jump (Nice view)
The Astrup Fearnley modern art museum

In the pininsual Bygdøy (buss nr 30, goes from down town)
The Vikingships museum
The Kontiki museum
The Fram Museum (Polar museum)
The Norwegian Folk Museum (Beutiful walk among very old buildings, large museum)

Fjordcruise private. Bluescruise, etc etc. Look into this, quite nice prices, and some of the boats have drinks and food included.. (And entertainment) They also have a hop on hop off fjordccruise with various stops… https://nyc.no/?gclid=CjwKCAjwscDpBRBnEiwAnQ0HQCx88MPYDZjy7t5BNEs5toyvYzjY-ucJA7iJ0QcIlZA-m-FDYzKPdhoCyCMQAvD_BwE

Fjordcruise public, boats can be taken out to the icelands in the Oslofjord, witht the same ticket as used for public transport. All boats leave from the tramstop ”Aker brygge” (Aker Brygge is also by the harbour where it is super nice to dine, and to have a rest. This area is also 5 minutes away from downtown)

Viking biking rent out bikes, and have guided biking tours

Electric minibike rental, download apps TIER, VOI and FRESH ! ☺

Outdoor activities: Look at the page for the outdoor public organisation in Oslo. 15 min away with the tramline, you find loads of bautiful nature free for everyone.

Outdoor and floating saunas:
”SALT”, sauna on land
”Kok” floating sauna
”Oslo Fjord Sauna”, floating sauna

Dining:
Two foodcorts with nice and cheap food. First is downtown ”Torgata bad” huge selection of delicious streetfood. Second is ”Vippa” located by the sea 5 min from Opera house.
Otherwise I recommend to use Tripsadvisor if you want tips on how to dine cheap in Oslo.. They will have the best overview and information.

Hi, I am 35 and I work in the norwegian tv-industry. I have a lovely light appartment located central west, in a quiet but ideally located area five minutes walk to almost everything the city has to offer.. Downtown Oslo, the Viegeland park, busses (only 7 minues bus ride) to Kontiki, Vikingships and Folk Museum.. Not to mention the beatiful beach, located on the same half-iceland as the museums. , Hilde :-) Old longer text, in norwegian below :-) Hei!
