Private, Quiet, and Spacious cabin on the Priest River (just below Priest Lake) with a private beach and 4,000 feet of riverfront on several acres! Has a giant deck to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, including a huge landscaped yard for family games, lounging on the hammock, or having a cold drink by the water.

Relax and unplug in this rustic and art-filled A-frame cabin on a private peninsula that will satisfy your need for peace and quiet, serenity, unplugged family time, and summer swimming fun all in one convenient place. The yard includes a large hammock-type swing and a slackline ninja rope course for kiddos, a horseshoe pit, flower beds, and plenty of large trees to lay under and read a book on a hot day, and of course the sandy beach just footsteps away from the newly renovated south-facing deck. Explore the river with the cabin’s canoe or youth kayak & try your hand at fishing in some of the deeper pools of the river. The property provides everything you could need for a getaway, but if you choose to venture out for a day trip, the cabin is only 30 minutes from the hiking trails, boat docks, resorts, restaurants, and beaches of Priest Lake. Bring your inner tubes and float down the river from Dickensheet State Park (just an 11-mile drive away) and float right up to the house’s private beach at the end of your trip. *Update: The river levels are lower than usual for this time of year due to the drought and heat, so floating down the river will take a very long time and is not recommended for summer 2021.

The large parking area can support an RV (bring your power cord and adapter to hookup to the 50-amp outlet). The huge yard can support several tents if family members want to camp as well, there is even an outhouse for a full camping experience :). Enjoy making pancakes and bacon for the whole family on a three-burner outdoor propane griddle. The house has a big family room, with a huge dining table, and is designed to accommodate more fun after the sun goes down (with a dart board, games, and a stereo system with a music catalog featuring decades of rock 'n roll and blues on LPs, CDs, and cassettes). A second living room is available with a DVD/Blue-Ray player and an extensive library of movies for all ages to settle down and get cozy at the end of the night.

Bedding is 100% cotton and laundered in fragrance-free detergent. Cleaning will be conducted with unscented products as much as possible. Mattresses, bedding, and towels are new as of 2021.

The cabin is dog friendly and includes both a large and small crate for crating/sleeping dogs; and a shaded kennel area when you can’t take the dog(s) with you for the day. A shovel/pooper scooper is provided so you can easily pick up after your dog as well.

Bedroom 1 includes one queen bed and is located on the lower level. Bedroom 2 (upstairs) includes 4 twin beds. Bedroom 3 includes one queen and one twin (upstairs). The family room includes a queen sofa sleeper. Partial air conditioning is provided upstairs and in the family room. Fans are also provided.

The kitchen is fully stocked, including dry pantry goods that can be borrowed on a take one, leave one basis.

Independent check-in with an electronic code on the front door.

As of July 2021, our major renovation projects are complete (there is a second bathroom and a laundry room now!) However, because we have been so focused on the major stuff, some of the minor cosmetic things, such as finishing the trim work, may not be fully completed before your summer stay. The good news is that the river and the yard are not under renovation and will always be ready to enjoy :) Hopefully the minor details will not detract from your fun, so please be forgiving of our work in progress.

The house does not have central heating or cooling and it does get hot in the summer! But if you take an active roll in opening the windows at night, closing them in the mornings, and using the fans and portable A/C units when appropriate, sleeping conditions are comfortable.

The exterior of the house is rustic and “homestead-chic”; But the interior has been comfortably renovated and updated to provide for a relaxing, safe and enjoyable vacation experience.

The river is safest for children to play and swim in during the months of July, August, and September (when the water level recedes, and the temps warm up). A handful of life jackets are available, but please bring personal lifejackets for beginner swimmers.

No wi-fi or live TV (bring your favorite movies and/or tablet connector cords to hook up to the TV or enjoy the DVDs in our library).

Verizon cell phone service is present but not great, other carriers are spotty to nonexistent.

Similar to surrounding areas, mosquitoes can be annoying in the late spring/early summer. Bring mosquito spray and be prepared to use it, especially late May thru July after the sun goes down.
