As a kid I used to imagine homes of family and friends as bed and breakfasts, and it remained with me as a dream -- surfacing here and there but seemingly not to be more than that.
In summer 2019, with a good deal of magic from the Universe, my dream was found by the 1869 Mary and Henry Horton House in Providence's South Elmwood Historic District. With the love and support of family and the talents of a creative collaborator, the house went under renovation throughout fall of 2019 and officially opened to guests in early 2020.
I began this journey working in a diner, owned and operated by my family since 1962 (the bench that first welcomed guests to that diner now greets guests in the Horton House dining room!), and I have been fostering welcoming experiences, events, and communities in various ways ever since.
Along with my daughters who live with me half of the time, I look forward to welcoming you to our home in the Mary and Henry Horton House!
I also always loved being a guest in others' homes, and, while I may be traveling a lot less these days, I certainly look forward to being welcomed by some of my fellow AirBNBers in the years to come.
