There is also a sun deck towards the end of the garden for outdoor summer dining and sitting. The lounge has an open fireplace for winter evenings with a single sofa bed. The kitchen is stocked with cooking and breakfast staples and more. A large variety of hot drinks and juices also provided. Smoking is only allowed in the garden and patio areas not in the cottage itself. Extreme log consumption may be charged extra.

Andre ting det er verdt å merke seg
Breakfast is ready on arrival for your convenience in the morning, the kitchen is stocked with staples for general cooking needs, and also for breakfast with cereals, breads, butter, spreads, eggs, hot drinks and juices.

Take a 15 minute walk to Ayot St Lawrence, a picturesque village, where George Bernard Shaw’s National Trust house is open to the public. There is also a beautiful neo-classical church (inspired by a Greek Temple) surrounded by sheep - and nearby, The Brocket Arms - a Tudor pub.

A little walk away is Codicote village, where you can enjoy a delicious Indian at Codicote Spice, or even get a takeaway! If you fancy something quicker there is even a kebab shop, and a chippy in the Bell Pub. There are also two convienience stores, a dry cleaners, post office, pharmacy, hairdresser, butcher and newsagents in Codicote. Everything you could need for your stay!

You can take a quick drive (or enjoy a longer walk on public footpaths and bridleways) to Welwyn village, providing a much greater choice of both pubs and restaurants. Welwyn is home to Italian (Vita and Aqua), Indian (Taj Mahal) restaurants, and Gastro Pubs (The White Hart, The White Horse and The Wellington). There is also a Tesco Express and many other local conveniences. If you fancy exploring some local cultural, there is a Roman Baths museum.

Should you need a larger shopping centre, Welwyn Garden City is nearby, and has many highstreet staples as well as Waitrose and John Lewis.

Another of the lovely local villages is Ayot Green, offering excellent gastro pubs such as The Waggoners (French cuisine) and The Red Lion.

Not far from the cottage is the stately home Knewbworth House, in old Knebworth village, which features the newly-renovated Lytton Arms pub.

Less than half an hour away by car is St Albans. The beautiful city is home to the Abbey Cathedral, Roman Museums, and nearby Hatfield House (where Queen Elizabeth 1st lived as a child). The Osprey factory shop is also close, with a lovely cafe in Cooper's Green. Further afield in Much Hadham is the Henry Moore Foundation with a large number of his sculptures, and the Harry Potter Studios just north of Watford.

If you’re an animal fanatic, you can visit Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne, the infamous Whipsnade Zoo near Dunstable, and Woburn for the Safari Park as well as the town's many antique shops.

Breakfast is provided for you to serve at your convenience, and (so that your stay is not complicated if you arrive late) milk, teas, coffee, juice, bread and even croissants or crumpets, cereals, spreads, and eggs will be awaiting your arrival.

There is regular live music in many of the pubs: The Goat in Codicote and The White Horse in Welwyn being the most likely to host events.

This is a wonderful weekend-break escape - brilliant for resetting your batteries and touching-base with nature!

Please note that it is not a good party location as the neighbours are noise sensitive. Breakages will require replacements.
