Worcestershire, England, Storbritannia

Evesham is a market town and parish in the Wychavon district of Worcestershire. It is located roughly equidistant between the City of Worcester, Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon. It lies within the Vale of Evesham with the River Avon running through it, a 10 minute walk from the house.

The town was founded around an 8th-century abbey, one of the largest in Europe, which was destroyed during the Dissolution of the Monasteries, with only Abbot Lichfield's Bell Tower remaining. During the 13th century, one of the two main battles of England's Second Barons' War took place near the town, marking the victory of Prince Edward who later became King Edward I.

Recognised for its apples, pears and plums, the Vale of Evesham and its neighbouring areas have some of the most productive horticultural land in the country. During mid March and mid May the soft pink tones of cherry and apple blossom contrast beautifully with the white blossom of the pear and plum as the blossom explodes along the road sides of the Vale of Evesham and surrounding areas known as the Spring Blossom Trail.
Throughout the year Evesham hosts an array of festivals, events and fairs such as the Asparagus festival, the Angling festival, the River Festival, the Battle of Evesham Festival, National Morris weekend, the festival of Words, Evesham Regatta and even more. There are many areas designated for walking including the famous "Cotswold Way" which goes from Broadway to Bath.

The Cotswold hills stretch from the east to the south-west, while to the west the area is bounded by the Malvern Hills.
Evesham is close to famous Cotswold towns and villages: Broadway, Snowshill, Chipping Campden, Stow on the Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh, Bourton- on-the-Water to name a few.
Stratford-upon-Avon is most renowned for Shakespeare's birthplace while Cheltenham is renowned for his festivals throughout the year including the famous "Cheltenham Gold Cup" which take place every year in March.

A number of "National Trust" properties are near by.

My husband and I live on the premises and are normally available. We can be contacted by phone or text either directly or though the Airbnb app.
Information about Evesham and the surrounding area can be found in the guest lounge, but feel free to ask if you need more details. We will interact with guests as much or as little as they wish.
We have a lovely dog, a 10 year old cocker spaniel, who is very friendly and rarely barks (only when someone comes to the door/rings the bell). He is not allowed into the guest areas (unless by invitation) nor upstairs.
