In a prime location to enjoy the city on foot, the apartment is located 950m from Praça do Comércio, 650m from Santa Apolónia Station (underground), and 300 meters from a stop of the mythical Tram28.

Beliggenhet

Lisboa, (Alfama), Portugal

Alfama's name derives from the Arabic Al-hamma, meaning fountains or baths. The quarter's steep and narrow streets make it a charming and picturesque place, especially due to the livelihood of its locals. Alfama is one of the most typical, and most certainly one of the oldest quarters of Lisbon.

Alfama - The birthplace of fado, which you can hear on every corner, is one of the most picturesque neighborhoods of Lisbon. Here coexisted Christians, Arabs and Jews. With its narrow streets, Alfama survived the earthquake of 1755 thanks to strong foundations based on the highest hill of Lisbon.

In every corner you can hear Fado. Along the Tagus river in old warehouses of the port, there are numerous restaurants, bars and the famous club Lux.
Feira da Ladra - Collectibles and antiques. On Tuesdays and Saturdays you can buy second-hand clothes, vinyl records, paintings, furniture and other paraphernalia junkyard. Haggling the price is part of the fair, who became camp in Campo de Santa Clara in the mid nineteenth century.

Church of Santa Engracia and National Pantheon - The church began construction in 1568, but in 1681 it was nearly destroyed by a storm. Reconstruction work dragged on into the twentieth century and only end in 1960! In Lisbon, we say that when a job is seemingly never-ending "as the works of Santa Engracia".

Festas de Santo António - The streets are adorned with balloons and decorative arches. There are popular festivities, eat up barbecued sardines, caldo verde (a soup of kale, olive oil and potatoes) accompanied with wine and sangria. Listening to a good Fado. Takes place during the month of June with the highlight on the night of 12 to 13 June.
