To the rear of the house is a downstairs toilet with washing machine, a separate drying room with freezer and an undercover area, ideal for washing or pushchairs. Secure lockable storage is available in the garage for bikes, surf boards and kayaks.
Outside the terrace out the front is a great place to sit and eat and soak up the wonderful views and gorgeous sunsets over Porthmadog Bay. There is also a private and secluded garden out the back with garden furniture provided.

With slate floors downstairs and the original wooden floors upstairs have been lovingly restored, which bring great warmth and character to the house, house shoes or slippers are recommended, and it would be much appreciated if shoes were not worn upstairs.

The cottage is right in the centre of the beautiful old castle town of Harlech with lots of lovely cafes and restaurants, a good mini supermarket just a few minutes walk away, and a couple of pubs at the bottom of the hill. Favourite eateries are Blue Lion, Castle, Wilderness & Cemlyn's cafes, Castle Bistro and Y Branwen bar and restaurant.
It's the perfect home from home base from which to explore this magical part of North Wales, with its gorgeous coast, mountains, historic towns and castles, and there's plenty to do in the area with several steam railways and loads of adventure activities.
Harlech is a lovely friendly little town in the most incredible location overlooking the picture perfect Norman castle, the stunning and endless sandy Harlech beach and the beautiful skyline of the Llyn peninsula beyond, as well as having a clear view to the north of the wild and rugged mountains of central Snowdonia, including Snowdon itself. It is an incredibly picturesque place, and now it is also home to the Steepest street in the world with a gradient of 1 in 2.5!! So come to Harlech and see for yourself what the Steepest street in the world looks and feels like to walk up! Don't worry you can revive yourself with a delicious homemade ice cream at the top.
No.1 Porkington Terrace isn't on the Steepest street, but it is on a steep hill, so do bear this in mind when you book to stay. The off road parking space is just behind the house, however there is generally parking available on the road just in front of the house too.
Harlech beach and the Royal St David's golf course are less than a mile from the house or you can drive down and use the designated car parks next to the beach and golf course.

I live in North Wales and have been here for 4 years, drawn to come and live here by the beautiful wild and rugged mountains and the sea with its endless sandy beaches and rocky coves. It's a big change and hard work, but I love it up here, and I want to tell the world about this magical corner of Great Britain. I really enjoy sharing the gorgeous holiday cottage I have created in Harlech, enabling people to have a lovely holiday in a welcoming and relaxing space.
