A 10min walk to the train station for direct journeys to the City Centre (10min journey), Loch Lomond, Edinburgh or even further afield. Less than a 5min walk to the Forth and Clyde Canal for walks and cycles. Free parking.

1 friendly dog and 1 laid back cat also come included as is a sunny garden with outstanding views of the city and the Scottish Highlands.

Our place has everything you should need during your stay and, we hope, more. Recently refurbished to a high standard throughout, we cannot wait for you to stay with us and always aim to go above and beyond for our guests.

The cosy, and private, guest living room (you have this completely to yourselves) includes a real coal/log fire (coal and logs can be provided for a small additional cost) deep bay window with views across the city and surrounding hill from the dining/occasionally table, two comfy sofas, Soundbar with Bluetooth, a 40" SMART TV with hundreds of channels and a DVD player; there are also a number of DVDs available in the house. With views across the city and towards the Highlands, facing south, and getting the sun all afternoon/evening, the sunsets you can view from the room are particularly spectacular. Tourist information booklets are also provided along with our own knowledge.

The spacious Scottish-styled guest bedroom has views to the attractive rear garden with an extremely comfortable double bed, wardrobe with hangers & drawers, hairdryer, dressing table, free WiFi (available throughout the house and garden), TV with Freeview, Google Chromecast & HDMI connection for laptops/tablets, USB sockets, reading lights, full length mirror, window seat, plus tea & coffee making facilities. Linen, towels and luxurious Molton Brown or Arran Aromatics shampoo & bath/shower gel provided.

There are full kitchen facilities with a freshly ground coffee machine, plates, glasses, mugs, utensils, pots and pans plus a gas hob, electric fan oven, dinning table for two (you also have a dining table in the living room), washing machine (free), kettle, microwave and fridge/freezer. Any laundry can be dried on the lines in the back garden or inside. Iron and ironing board available also.

The delightful upstairs bathroom, with luxurious Molton Brown hand soap and hand cream, has a bath, thermostatic rain shower, sink and toilet. The rather convenient downstairs bathroom has a toilet, sink and luxurious Molton Brown hand soap.

There is a sunny garden to the front, rear and side of the house with outstanding views across the city and also the Highlands of Scotland. There are comfortable chairs for four and two benches for additional seating. A BBQ is available for some al fresco cooking.

Free tea and coffee throughout your stay, both in your room and in the kitchen.

You may drop off luggage before check in or leave it here for a while after check out, no charge. If you need an early check in or late check out please get in touch and hopefully we can help; no charge.

We have a cat (Steven) and a dog (Erin) both of whom are friendly and love people. Steven also spends a fair amount of time outside. Your own pets may be allowed to stay, just ask.

To afford you the spectacular views from your private living room it should be noted that the house is located up a hill. It is only a small hill but I just feel I should point this out.

Located in a safe, quiet and characterful pocket of Glasgow's West End, the house is within easy reach of everything Glasgow City Centre, the West End Centre, and beyond, by walking as well as excellent public transport options and easy driving options.

The house, dating from the 1930's and, bursting with character, is located on a hillside (Glasgow is quite flat so its not a big hill) affording excellent views of the city and out towards the Highlands of Scotland. The street itself is quiet as there is no through traffic therefore it is only residents that use it.

Four convenience stores are located within a 5min (or less) walk from the flat. More local shops, banks, a post office and cafes are a 10min walk from the flat, as is a larger supermarket.

A number of highly rated restaurants with sit in and/or takeaway facilities are within a 5min walk including a Scottish Seafood Restaurant, a Scottish Fayre Restaurant, Chinese and Indian.

There are a number of pubs within a 5-10min walk including 1051 GWR and Esquire House (Wetherspoons). There is also Lock 27 bar/restaurant located on the Forth and Clyde canal. The canal also provides an attractive and easy footpath from where you can reach Glasgow's West End centre for numerous restaurants, pubs and the Botanic Gardens...or you can even walk to the city centre.

If you are looking for a place to stay in Glasgow in a nice area that is close to the city centre (10min train journey) but where you can relax outside in a sunny garden, go nice walks etc or want a place well serviced but somewhat quieter than in the city centre itself then this is ideal for you. Kelvindale is a great place to stay and I love living here for all the diversity of amenities it has to offer from the canal & parks to restaurants and the general 'feel' of the street I live in.

I am easy going and really easy to get on with; you will usually find me out with friends, gardening, travelling or out with the dog for a walk with my girlfriend Caroline. If you book our AirBnB room with private living room (and we truly hope you will), when you stay it's up to you whether you want to spend time chatting or want some time and space to yourself. We are respectful of everyone's different requirements and we will always make your stay as enjoyable as possible. As someone who enjoys travelling in Scotland, and frequently does so, you can ask me about places to go in Glasgow or all over Scotland and I'll be able to point you in the right direction.
