The Nest at The Gooserosa Bed & Breakfast Farm Stay is a fantastic carriage house over an extra large detached garage, and sleepy farm nestled in Skagit Valley, just minutes to Goose Reserve & Tulip fields. We have goats, chickens, & a horse amidst stunning views of wintering swans & snow geese with beautiful valley views & sunrises over Mt Baker & Cascades. The Nest is extra large open floor plan with a tall wood beamed ceiling, big view windows, with full-size kitchen & bath, fireplace, WIFI!

Stedet
The Nest Carriage House condo faces out to the lush rich farmland in the Skagit Valley basin, overlooking and within throwing distance of beautiful daffodil fields, tulip fields, snow geese, swans, and eagles, both on the ground and in flight. In fact, two eagles perched in trees above the condo most of the day. The Nest condo affords you the luxury of privacy, cleanliness, warmth and comfort and only a couple of minutes to La Conner... plus only one hour from Seattle and 20 minutes to the San Juan Island Ferries.

We offer free WiFi, 2 soft fluffy bathrobes, and if you book thru Bed and Breakfast.com we offer freshly baked and salted bagels with cream cheese or other fresh goodies from our very own organic Skagit Co-op or our kitchen for your breakfast. If you book with Air B&B you are welcome to venture down and gather your own fresh eggs for breakfast starting in April when we will have plenty of layers. We are set up for long stays and business stays with a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen comes completely stocked with cookware and some basics for cooking, such as olive oil, vinegar, 18 spices, tea and ground drip coffee. You are always invited to come over to the main house between the hours of 7 and 8 for a homemade latte or if you request the day before we can deliver.

The king size bed is super comfortable with a new latex foam mattress and extra pillow topper for added comfort. Freshly laundered (and unscented) sheets and towels are in good supply and stored in your unit for your use. If you are here for a long stay we bring you fresh linens upon your request. There is a futon with linens and blankets for two more people, and two small portable beds, small children sized beds for you to use. We are in the process of acquiring a high chair to store in the closet for the many small tots that come here. This space can really sleep six people if necessary. PS Baby Mooners give our Nest high ratings! So do Anniversary stayers and Proposal Makers.

Parking is conveniently located right next to your Nest Bed and Breakfast for ease of coming and going. There is a combination key-less lock on your exterior door which will be left unlocked for your arrival. Simply park up at the large garage door on the left side near the big orange cone. Then walk around the corner and enter thru the 2nd door and go up the stairs.

Gjestetilgang
We are happy to share the entire property including a nice gathering area by the fish pond. When possible we can gather together around an outdoor fireplace for some hot chocolate or hot toddies. The entire farm is free for you to roam. Please be extra careful of the electric fence surrounding the horse. It is always on but for your protection, we can switch it off while you are down visiting if you like.

Our friendly six goats are part of the family. They each have their own quirks, preferences, and needs. We call them by name but the one who always answers is Freckles, the white spotted female. When you visit The Gooserosa Farm you can talk to either Dick or Kriss about an opportunity to say Hi to our friendly herd and possibly help feed and pet them.
We have several friendly chickens and a very friendly rooster. They love it when guests come and feed them special corn from the barn as do the goats. We will offer fresh farm eggs daily when we have them and they are free. First come first serve. Any fruit growing on the plum trees or flowers growing out in the yard are available for you to pick. Feel free to cut the wild rose hips that grow in abundance for a wreath. Our neighbor Jo has an organic garden and has invited our B&B guests to come over with a basket and help yourself to any fresh garden ingredients you may like to eat your meals here.
Our farm is an ongoing creation. We have lived here only here two years and hope to make it a farm-friendly, interesting, and enjoyable experience for everyone.
We have a very friendly little white dog, Fleah, who we rescued and is the B&B Official Greeter. She is very dutiful about welcoming you to the farm.

Andre ting det er verdt å merke seg
Winter time brings in the large flocks of Snow Geese to The Gooserosa which are always a thrill to watch and catch on camera and most days will be found flying in formation by or out in the field behind the house. Normally they will start to fly over at 8:50 am. They leave to return to their home around April 15th. Spring and Summer bring tulips, tractors, and traffic! The famous Oyster Run is Sunday, Sept 24th and there are many motorcycles that will be driving by on Saturday and Sunday. We feel if you can't beat them join them and take a drive into Anacortes on Sunday and join in the fun.

Because we are found in such an idyllic area we would recommend getting out and exploring the local area as well as visiting our historic capital. If you plan to see some of the country while you are here we can recommend (URL HIDDEN) Renting a car in Washington will give you the opportunity to see everything we have to offer and make your life a lot easier.
Active folks, outdoor enthusiasts, come mountain or road bike, cycle back roads, hike, kayak, drive to high vistas, see incredible views, the ocean, beach walk, bird watch. Theater, light opera, concerts, stage plays, music. Additionally, Predators of the Heart Wildlife Sanctuary, with wolves and other animals you normally don't approach in nature, is located just a few miles away in Anacortes.

I am often nearby and am available to answer any questions. When you first arrive I like to introduce myself and welcome you with a quick orientation to our property and your condo if not too late. I like to know your arrival time and departure if you know it. We are happy to guide you on a bike ride tour of the local farmlands any time of the year, during the Tulip Festival or for a chance to see the wintering swans and snow geese, or take you on a fabulous kayak tour (weather permitting) with snacks included, where we can view the snow geese, seals, and eagles in their natural element. $150 per person Kayaking and $75 per person Bike Rides. 2-3 hour estimate. We need advanced notice to do these events. We also would love to get together with you the first morning you are here and share a coffee/ tea with you just to meet you and also to see if we can help you plan your stay or recommend some great places to visit. Timing on that is usually 8 am here at our house. Please let us know you are interested in coming over otherwise we will respect your privacy and respond only to your requests.
