Dolphin is a self contained apartment on the top floor of the owner's home, Ferry House - formerly a 200 year old coaching inn which linked the ferry taking passengers across the Cromarty Firth. It offers comforts, character, peace and quiet. It has sea views from the gable end window. A walk to the beach takes 5 minutes and should guests wish they can continue along the shore line and 'round the block' passing a recently restored Medieval Church (average walking time 45 minutes).

Dolphin is ideal for singles and couples and comprises a spacious en-suite bedroom, comfy queen sized bed and seats, flat screen TV and adjacent kitchenette with fridge, microwave, hot plate together with crocks, pots and cutlery.

Gjestetilgang
Guests will be given a front door key to Ferry House and a key to Dolphin's en suite bedroom. Upon entry the communal stairs are immediately in front and Dolphin is on the second (top) floor. The separate kitchenette is at the head of the stairs and Dolphin's en suite bed/sitting room is to the left. All rooms have controllable central heating and guests will have total privacy on the top floor during their stay.

Married to Susy with family who live in Melbourne, Australia. Self employed for 35 years initially running health and safety courses with a high practical content before gradually moving into the B&B/self catering trade. In the 90's we had 8 holiday cottages In the Scottish Highlands enjoying stunning views over the Moray Firth. The property was set in 160 acres of land with beautiful woodland walks and a stepped path to the beach. Now having sold the business and semi-retired, we have poured our experience into one holiday cottage with an equally stunning view over the Cromarty Firth, but with the added attraction of all types and sizes of cruise ships entering and leaving Invergordon Harbour (distance approximately 1 mile). The chalet is less than 100 yards from our home, a former inn on the Black Isle. My motivation to invest was: a) the outlook - an elevated view over a field barley dropping down to Cromarty Firth stretching across the water to the port of Invergordon and the hills beyond. b) Comfort - The chalet has undergone root and branch renovation and has been rebuilt to current building regulations including ease of access, mobility, energy conservation and safety. Indulgence - I like breathing new life into properties with potential. The Sheiling enabled me to produce an energy efficient house with all the comforts of underfloor heating, solar panels and a wood burning stove. Convenience - Apart from the short distance from our home, the Sheiling is easy to manange and should added accommodation be required this is available on the top floor of Ferry House where we have a self contained apartment. I enjoy sport and used to play cricket and hockey reasonably well, but still cannot quite come to terms with the fact that hitting a small white ball with a choice of clubs can be quite so difficult. Over the past 20 years, my wife and I have travelled extensively and have visited many places in Australia. We enjoy the countryside and have zoned in on little township 50 miles out of Melbourne when visiting family. Again, the property has a stunning elevated view looking through the Yarra Valley and have been made very welcome and probably have a more active social life compared to our Scottish home.
