A peaceful haven situated in a bush setting. The ideal place to use a base for visiting the Coromandel Peninsula. Walking, swimming, hiking and biking trails are all within easy reach. We love living here and sharing it with guests.

Stedet
A self contained studio apartment 2km north of Thames on the Coromandel Peninsula, North Island, New Zealand. Situated at the entrance to the Tararu Valley in a peaceful bush and unique garden setting we are three minutes walk to the beach. It is five minutes cycle to the start of the Hauraki Rail Trail and a bush walk starts on site. You can relax here or visit one of the many nearby attractions including mining and maori heritage sites.
Come to our place for a holiday to remember.
The upstairs bedroom had two queen sized and one single bed. The downstairs lounge area has one double sofa bed. All linen provided.
There is a kitchen with fridge, coffee maker, microwave and double hot plate. We also have a BBQ, CD player and two TV's.
There is also air conditioning.
We are usually able to provide meals as required or restaurants and shops are a five minute drive away. A continental breakfast is available for an extra charge of $10 per person.

A cycle trail, historic mining sites, beaches and museums are close by and there are many walking tracks in the Coromandel Forest Park. A popular day walk to the Pinnacles is a half hour drive away. Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach are and hour and a half away. There are local fishing charters for snapper, kahawai and kingfish.

My husband, Peter, and I enjoy meeting interesting people and sharing our small piece of paradise with them. We have spent many hours creating a very individual garden and I create "art" pieces to display in it. We offer in-depth knowledge of the special features of our local area and can show guests many attractions on the Coromandel Peninsula. We have enjoyed back-packing and cycling through Europe recently and loved every place we visited with Croatia topping the list. Our area offers physical activities such as tramping, kayaking, cycling, relaxing in hotpools or fishing off mussel barges. We both enjoy meeting new people from all over the world and hearing their stories so please come and share yours with us. As new hosts we have been extremely pleased with the guests we have had and have enjoyed making their stay as positive and comfortable as we can. My life motto is "If it's to be, it's up to me"and our new Grandson is the best thing in our lives now. We hope to see you soon.
