Dette kommer dere til å gjøre

We'll meet in the town of Joshua Tree at the Joshua Tree National Park Visitor Center (6554 Park Boulevard, 92252), and then caravan into Joshua Tree National Park. We will either go through the West Entrance OR head into Rattlesnake Canyon. On the way in, we will encounter Joshua Tree forests and the signature rock formations that we'll be exploring. We will then park and proceed into the backcountry for a hike and rock scramble, learning hands-on about Joshua Tree's unique geology as we go. You'll get to experience hidden parts of the Park that you would never access otherwise! Scrambling is a mix of hiking and lower-level rock climbing. It is done without ropes, and requires the use of hands and arms in addition to the lower body. This activity requires balance and coordination (and guts, especially if it's your first time); but it's an incredibly fun and rewarding way to explore the wilderness. This Experience is also great for urban climbers and boulderers who want to get comfortable crossing backcountry terrain. Scrambling is a vital skill for outdoor climbing! If you’d like to reserve a date that’s not listed, please send a message to inquire about availability. Every outing will be tailored to the ability and willingness of the participants. Safety is paramount! "Sticky" shoes, such as approach shoes or hiking boots, are recommended.

Elizabeth

Hi! I'm an outdoor guide, climber, hiker, and Yoga teacher based in Joshua Tree, California. I own/direct a guiding + Yoga company called Sacred Spiral Adventures (findable on the web at https://www.sacredspiraladventures.com). I am also a part-time professor of English, and have worked in outdoor education here in the high desert. I love making music, writing, and engaging in pretty much any sport or physical challenge. I also have a great passion for spiritual study, which includes protecting our natural environment and sharing it with others! You can learn more about me and the practices I share at elizabethwyattyoga.com.

Her skal du være

We'll be scrambling through the bouldery backcountry of Joshua Tree National Park, moving over, under, and through boulders and to the tops of larger rock formations with fantastic views of the high desert.
