Join us on our traditional Scottish farm to get a glimpse into crofting life. We are a working croft and aim to give you a real feel of the crofting life, which is unique to the Scottish Highlands. Plan in 2 hours for a guided walk around the animals. While enjoying the stunning views and scenery, learn about crofting and local history, from the Neolithic to the Clearances. There will be plenty of photo opportunities with our 4-legged friends and stunning surroundings. In June/July the sheep will be shorn, so if you would like to try your hand at this traditional crofting chore, Tom, who is a professional shearer, will give you an introduction. The ponies will love being fussed over. We will visit our herd of native cows before feeding and stroking the pigs and the chickens, where you can collect your own eggs if you're lucky, and - depending on whether there are any - the pet lambs will need their bottle, too. We finish our tour with a working sheep dog demonstration to show you our collie Tib in action with the sheep.
After that, we'll deserve a hearty homemade soup and bread, followed by fresh scones and shortbread. Feel free to fire away with any questions you have regarding the animals or crofting during our walk or over our cuppa afterwards
* If you fancy staying on the Croft: We also have AirB'n'B accommodation available.

My husband Tom and I have worked our croft (traditional Scottish farm) in the Scottish Highlands since 2014. Here we breed and raise sheep, cows and keep chickens, mainly native and rare breeds. There are also ponies, pigs, a cat and dogs. Tom is a professional sheep shearer and we have travelled the world shearing sheep together before starting our own farming enterprise. We love people experiencing this beautiful place and our friendly animals, as we believe that access to nature and animals is crucial for mental and general wellbeing - for children and adults alike. Tom and I are passionate about small-scale, ethical food production and animal husbandry and enjoy sharing our knowledge, experience and surroundings with everybody who loves to experience farmlife or even those keen to start their own smallholding

The croft is off the beaten track, yet within easy reach. Our tour will take place on the farm and all the animals on the croft will be covered. We finish with the chickens, where you can collect your own eggs - depending on availability - before we enjoy a well deserved cuppa and homemade fresh scones and shortbread together in the house. If you would like to stay with us, please message me for the link to our AirB'n'B accommodation.

Stefanie, Thomas and there three precious ones made this day so so special for our family! The weather was a little damp but I loved every minute of it as did my kids with their own little tour guides to show them around the Croft. What this family is accomplishing is so fascinating and grounding and I count myself so fortunate to have been able to enjoy the day with them. The food was delicious and exactly what we needed after the cold wet Scottish weather. Stefanie is so knowledgeable about the area and is very good at explaining the highland life and showing how hospitable the Scottish families are! Thank you for wonderful memories!!

We had the most wonderful experience day with Stefanie and her lovely family. He met all the animals, leant about the history of the area and had a delicious lunch on the Croft. I would highly recommend this experience!

Family of 5, we’ve had a great time with Stephanie and her family. Our 3-year old had a blast playing with the various tractors and trucks Stéphanie’s kids had, the older ones just taking care of the animals and listening to Stéphanie’s local stories.

An absolutely amazing experience with a lovely and welcoming family. We were introduced to all the animals, hands on where appropriate and the hosts were so relaxed and easy going they felt like old friends. Kids reviews: "we love it" "It's the best place in the world!"

Wonderful experience especially with children- nothing beats holding a tiny fluffy chick 🐥 or bottle feeding a calf 😊. We learned a lot about the highlands and crofting and had a wonderful family meal with yummy home baking 😋.
