Spring Foraging workshop – 12- 4:30pm,Walking the Trails of a beautiful 400 acre property. Learn to identify Spring Growth Edibles, Collect and discuss processing of Wild Mustard, Nettle, Ramps, Spruce Tips and Morels (amongst other notables). This is an intense field practicum. Participants of this workshop will be required to dress appropriate for all weather including Tick Spray. Bring paper bags, basket, gardening gloves, scissors, snacks and water. All edibles (once fully identified)will be divided equally between each participant with a list of proprietary ‘Wild Feast’ recipes for home processing.
I am a Mushroom & wild (Indigenous ) foods expert. I am currently a guest lecturer for the local Horticultural Society, CRCA and will be a guest lecturer at Queens University. I am also a chef of 35 years and a former restaurant owner. I have mushroom picked on 3 continents with over 40 years experience. I have been cooking with indigenous foods for 15 years. We will be visiting a privately owned property hosting many Indigenous edibles and wild mushrooms. The property stretches over 400 acres with 3 very distinct old forest growth - Coniferous/ Deciduous and mixed Sugar Bush. We will enjoy a Picnic, warming up with Hot Maple Tea/ Hot Cocoa and freshly roasted coffee while discussing our experience and foraged finds

This is an outdoor activity. So we request Guests to dress appropriately to the weather. The Farm has free run chickens, a horse, a dog and many cats. We will be walking much of the experience.
