In order to feel the local flavor we start our tour from a small grocery store to understand the fundamentals of Georgian food. Georgia is well known for its custom toast-making, sharing food and cooking it slow to make the process the most enjoyable of a lifetime. So relax, slow down and surrender to the hospitable georgian relish.

After the short introduction to basics, we get down to try it. We head to Old Town to explore one of the best family restaurants beloved by sophisticated citizens of the city. We start with khinkali, local salad, vegi pkhali and wine or chacha. I will tell some secrets about georgian cuisine and show the tips on how we usually eat it.

After having lunch we go straight to my friend who is savvy in traditional tea ceremonies. Not only he is good at tea, but also in story-telling that you follow until you find yourself lost in time.

If you wish to continue your journey, I would love to recommend you more of the local places I enjoy. Spices and cheeses could be a really nice eatable souvenir from this juicy country.

As we are new here, we run promo tours for the lowest ever rates to collect more reviews and improve our routes according to what our guests are most interested in. So ask us about the secret promo dates!

Definitely recommend this tour to anyone travelling to Georgia for the first time. It is impossible to imagine Georgian culture without food, and this tour explains all the details and connections between the traditions around the table and national character. I loved that it was also practical and we were encouraged to try do things the Georgian way, like there is a special etiquette around khinkali and you should definitely try doing some toasting!

I sign up for the food tours in every country I visit and Georgia was no exception. I really liked how the tour was organised, it was both fun and informative. We had some delicious food for lunch - it was very filling! And we were advised on the best food souvenirs to bring home.

It was a lovely afternoon with a local guide who explained us the basics of Georgian cuisine. We had a fantastic lunch with khinkali and now I know how to eat them like a local, I will never use fork and knife with them again ;) The guide also taught us how to toast the Georgian way. The tea ceremony at the end of the tour was really nice and educational. I definitely recommend this tour!

A perfect introduction to Tbilisi's food scene! The tour was well-paced and offered a good mix of popular and secret locations. The Tea Museum was definitely the highlight!
