It was a lovely walking tour of Soweto, Sibosiso is very knowledgeable and can relay the stories of the land well and answer any questions you may have! We enjoyed seeing the different parts of the town and learning about the lifestyle and history. Because of lockdown and off-loading (power outage) hours, we weren’t able to visit all the sites of the tour such as the brewery and seeing the various shops come to life so I recommend discussing the itinerary beforehand but overall it was an enjoyable experience and I would recommend it to friends :)

We enjoyed the tour a lot. First Sibusiso told us about the history of Soweto and about the student uprisings in 1976. Then we went to Soweto Beer and had a beer tasting and we ate at Chaf Pozi near the Soweto Tours. At the end we visited one of the poorer settlements. Thank you for this interesting insight into the life in Soweto!

What a magical experience I had while visiting Soweto. Although the history of Apartheid and the struggle for freedom is certainly nothing to take lightly; the magic of it all was through the storytelling, the intricate history, and the personal connection that felt with my tour guide – Banele. I would encourage everyone to not overlook this city due to any preconceived notions. I felt absolutely safe, and I at times fitted right in. Until I opened my mouth, of course, and then people could tell where I was from due to my accent. Anyhoo, Sibusiso and Banele are extraordinary and you would be doing yourself a disservice to pass up this opportunity. I am so glad that I experience the magic...
