Dette kommer dere til å gjøre
Please view this itinerary as a sample - each expedition we run is unique and crafted around its participants. Plans will shift due to weather and terrain conditions. During our week together, we'll traverse the wilderness of one of Patagonia's newest national parks. Along the way, we'll teach and coach you on the backcountry skills you need to travel safely through these rugged landscapes. Day one: after meeting in Coyhaique, the capital city of the Aysen Region, we'll journey to the trailhead by ferry, across Lago General Carrera (South America's second-largest lake), and by van. We arrive to the Jeinimeni entrance of Patagonia National Park, where we'll teach you about the group gear we'll use for our expedition. We'll set off for a hike to stretch our legs and perhaps take our first swim! Evening will find us demonstrating backcountry cooking on camp stoves, where we'll prepare our first delicious meal together. Afterwards, we'll gather to share what brought us to Patagonia, and what we hope to learn from this wild experience.
At Chulengo Expeditions, we are educators, outdoorspeople and activists. Our small team is comprised of wilderness experts from Chile and the United States, who know the Aysén Region intimately. Co-founders Nadine Lehner and Ben Wilcox, who guide most expeditions, spent years working with Tompkins Conservation on the creation of the new national parks you'll travel through. Both of us graduated from Harvard College and work as faculty at the outdoor school NOLS. All of our expedition leaders are certified in Wilderness First Responder, and bring years of experience in the backcountry.
