I'm Zakia, the founder of Invisible Cities, an organisation that trains people who have experienced homelessness to be tour guides.
Daniel, our first Invisible (Glasgow) guide! After selling the Big Issue in the West end of Glasgow for 8 years, Daniel trained with Invisible Cities to be the first person to represent Invisible (Glasgow). Let him take you on a journey through HIS Glasgow!
The theme and content of this tour was made by Daniel himself. After completing his training on public speaking, self confidence and customer service (delivered by the Radisson Red) he spent time tailoring his tour, to showcase monuments and stories he wanted to tell.

I was very disappointed. My boyfriend and I are big true crime enthusiasts and we were excited for something so close to home for us but we spent an hour and 20 minutes on the tour and mainly heard about Daniel's life. I feel this was falesy advertised and I can understand him bringing parts of his life into the tour but we heard basically nothing of what we actually wanted. He spoke about the hanging in Glasgow green briefly at the beginning and there after it didn't have anything to do with crime or punishment

We had a really interesting and enjoyable time with Daniel, despite the fact that it poured with rain solidly for 2 hrs! I have been on other tours of Glasgow in the past, the ones that tell you all about the buildings and the famous figures. This one connects much more with the people that have lived and worked there over the years - where and how they lived, worked, and where they went out to the dance on the Saturday night! Daniel is really friendly, chatty , great fun with a never ending collection of tales. Highly recommended.

Apparently two groups of people had cancelled their tours, which gave me the rare treat of a tour for one, with Daniel.
It was a great way to spend a couple of hours, fascinating stories, about Glasgow, Daniel's life, and crime & punishment.
Really can't recommend it enough.

Looking on the back side of the city helped me to see beyond the high gloss tour guide book impressions. Impressive and highly professional, Daniel delivered figures and facts, showed flexibility and sprinkled fun.
Highly recommended if you - *seriously* - can handle Glaswegian ;)
I enjoyed it all the way!
