The tour includes not only sightseeing, you will also learn a lot on local art and exhibitions, local customs, 20th century history and linguistic influences throughout different parts of Croatia, which might give you a broader picture and context of local culture.
Let's meet at King Tomislav equestrian statue in front of main railway station (Glavni kolodvor), and from there we will take a walk along the green horseshoe parks including the famous Zrinjevac, passing through Zagreb main square, visiting Kaptol and Gradec, connected by one of the most beautiful farmers markets in Europe, Dolac. While strolling through the upper town we'll pass by most famous Zagreb churches as well as Zagreb town promenade that follows the old wals of once fortified town. We'll descend from the upper town with the oldest and shortest european funicular, and follow the path to Flower Square, passing through the Octogone- a 19th century building complex. From Flower square we will stroll all the way towards the Croatian National Theatre where we finish our tour.

There is aslo an option of booking the private tour for you and your friends or family, in that case just 1 person should make the booking for the whole group.

Welcome and let's walk!

Exploring Zagreb life in the rhytm of the locals- morning walk through center and bustling Dolac market, or catching the afternoon vibe of the capital, part of the day for socializing and afternoon coffee after work, before the dusk and vibrant nightlife. My tour includes info on cultural life of Zagreb, including the recommendations for local museums and current exhibitions. Welcome and dive into the cultural capital of Croatia with an expert!

Marijana has a great knowledge about Zagreb, as well as architecture and art history related to the Zagreb buildings and design. The tour is nicely structured in terms of time, so you have a chance to see Zagreb in daylight and in the evening, so it gave additional flavor to see all Christmas lights and decorations, when it got dark. I enjoyed the tour and conversations with Marijana a lot!

This was one of the best guided tours I have done. Marijana is an excellent guide, very knowledgeable about history and a great storyteller. Her love for Zagreb and Croatia comes across very well in her stories, and her personal and family stories intertwined with Croatian history give a really personal feel for Zagreb. She is a really friendly and sweet guide and we would highly recommend her tour.

Thanks to Marijana, now I'm totally in love with Zagreb! Marijana is a great guide and a wonderful person whom I enjoyed talking about art, culture of Zagreb and Croatia, about the region's history, issues, daily routine, and much more! I'd totally recommend Marijana's tour to those who like me before barely know a thing about the city and want to have a profound image of it. Now I just love it and can't wait to come back and explore more!

We loved our walking tour with the knowledgeable Marijana. It was a cold November morning, so mid-way through we stopped at one of her favorite cafes for some warm-up tea and conversation. It was a nice touch.

Had a great walking tour with Marijana, despite the cold! Enjoyed learning about the history of the city, major sights and notable Croatians. Marijana was very forthcoming with her personal experience growing, working and living in Croatia.

A morning spent with Marijana was in every way fascinating. It was a hugely personal experience and we learnt about the history of modern Croatia through her life. It brought not only this beautiful city to life for us but also the nation of Croatia.
