The everglades are beautiful! The kayaking was intense though and the distance was too much for me to handle though. Thankfully the guides were there to tow us back. Be prepared for a workout!

The trip was a bit shorter than advertised, because of conditions on the water. That was a little disappointing but understandable. Still, I loved the day and would return.

A trip on the water in the national park for sure is a unique experience. I had a fabulous day in the Noosa Everglades. 5 stars for the location. As to the organisation: pick-up from my accommodation didn’t happen and was never offered to me - they do offer it when you book through their website it appears. (On my way back I realized that one fellow traveler stayed not too far away from my place. ) So in the morning a feiend took me to the next town’s bus stop and so pickup worked well from there. Bus trip to the park is about 1 hour. I hadn’t realised that one could do the day trip on ones own without guidance but then I had never kajaked before. Our guide gave a brief intro. After all, kajaking is not that complicated but it seemed to me, he doesn’t realise what it is like for a complete newby and there were some of us. Important: you will share a Kajak - that wasn’t clear to me. So when you are a single traveler you will share the boat with somebody all day. (Also when you book the DIY trip but that’s not on Airbnb). So we set off and the surroundings are just out of this world beautiful. I learned that app. half of Australia bird species can be found in the Noosa Everglades. As for wild life we saw pelicans and one white breasted eagle and a family of kangaroos and I m sure there was more out there. Here is the challenge: in a group of 8 people boats might be far away from each other on the water. Our guide might have explained a lot on the way, but I didn’t get any of it if he did. At times I felt he wasn’t interested if anybody fell far behind and that made me feel a bit uncomfortable (he did wait for people at the end of the day as two participants had really fallen behind). So again, it might be a difficult job to keep people together as a group on the water but the feeling I had was that it wasn’t a priority. I have had other experiences where the guide tried a lot harder to include everyone, brought people together and shared a lot of his/her knowledge. To me that’s what an Airbnb experience is about. We had a bit of this at a fabulous lunch (food was excellent!!!) but only when we asked questions. All that said: I had a fabulous day because the Everglades are beautiful and should not be missed, I discovered kajaking and will certainly do that again and I had good food and fun on the water. I wish I had learned more. Overall I reckon the event missed the passion I have encountered at other Airbnb Events so all the more thanks to those guys who shared their joy with me, the tourist.
