We will all meet at one of the famous meeting spots in Nagoya Station called Kin Tokei (Gold Clock) at 11:30-11:45am. From there we will take a short walk through the bustling station to an underground mall and visit a 40 year old restaurant that specializes in Miso Katsu (Fried Pork Cutlet with Red Miso Sauce).

After a satisfying lunch we will all board a train to Arimatsu for a short break. Arimatsu is one of the original stations on the Tokaido trail between Tokyo and Kyoto and the street is lined with Edo-era buildings. We will then continue our train journey to Okazaki City to visit the Kakukyu Miso factory.

Kakukyu has been making red miso for over 370 years. We will join a one hour tour of the factory given by one of their experts. From there we get on a train again and head back into Nagoya from a different direction.

We will then ride on the maglev train line built for the 2005 World Expo and the Nagoya city subway to get to Kamiyashiro. At Kamiyashiro we will enjoy a nice dinner at a Nagoya cuisine restaurant (local sake tasting is an additional charge) and then wrap up at 9pm at Kamiyashiro subway station. I will make sure you know how to get where you need to go!

I have lived in Japan for 27 years of which 25 have been in Nagoya and am fluent in Japanese. The first time I tried red miso I fell in love with it and have tried many different types over the years I have lived here.

One of the places we would visit is a restaurant owned by a friend of mine that specializes in Nagoya cuisine. I have worked with him to come up with a special red miso and Nagoya cuisine introductory meal for a good price.

Finally, I have been hosting on Airbnb for 5 years now and have been a superhost for almost all those five years so I know how to make guests happy!

The restaurant for lunch has been operating for over 40 years and specializes in Miso Katsu.

Arimatsu is a nice place to break up the train journey and enjoy a view of Edo Japan. I am sure you will want to go back!

Kakukyu Miso Factory has been operating for over 370 years and makes some of the best red Haccho miso.

Finally the Nagoya cuisine restaurant is a favorite of mine since it is near my home. I have been coming here for over 15 years.

Was great. Miso factory was super fun and good was really nice. Harvey was super friendly.
