All around Paris's most famous monuments are the echoes of an extraordinary story without which France doesn’t quite make sense; the pivotal event in the history of democratic Europe. The French Revolution! Ever wondered where Marie-Antoinette was imprisoned and put on trial? Or where Napoleon lived? Where did the guillotine slice of 1119 heads during the Reign of Terror? And why did the Revolution happen in the first place? Choose this experience and you'll discover the answer to these and many other fascinating questions as we walk past the must-see sights of Paris's historic center. Paris has changed a lot since the Revolution, but we'll be on the lookout for the traces of this lost time, whilst sharing fantastic stories about the likes of Danton, Robespierre, Lafayette, Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette, and Napoleon in the shadows of the places where they once made history. Whether you're completely new to French History and just want to know what this whole "Revolution" thing was all about or a Napoleon fanatic looking for the details you can't find in the history books, I have crafted this experience to be enjoyable for all. Since May 2018, more than 150 people have decided to reserve this experience and went on to leave a five-star review.
I guess it was probably visiting castles with my Dad as a boy that got me hooked on history, and I feel lucky to have been able to turn my passion into a career. I hold France's professional guiding license ("guide conférencier") and have over six years’ experience guiding at Versailles and in Paris. But I think what really counts is that for me the time of the French Revolution and Napoleon was one of the most exciting eras in history and I love to share it with people. When not guiding, you can find me teaching history to children in a Paris middle school, and in both my roles I pride myself on making the past come alive in a way that’s entertaining, accurate and open to all.

Her skal du være
Beginning in the shadow of Napoleon’s tomb at the Invalides, we’ll pass by the National Assembly to reach the home of the guillotine at Concorde Square. We'll enter the Tuileries Gardens, once home to Napoleon's Palace, and enjoy the architecture of the Louvre, whose history as a museum began during the Revolution. Passing by Marie-Antoinette's prison, we'll finish on the edge of the Latin Quarter, in 1789 Paris's most radical district
