Dette kommer dere til å gjøre
REGISTER EARLY! Before we meet in Santa Fe, I'll send each participant a questionnaire to better learn their interests, then craft a custom itinerary that will include selected openings, artists meet ups, restaurants, arts demos, shopping, and if you have time, side excursions after the market is over on Sunday. This is an insider's guide to SWAIA for August 2019. Last year I customized an itinerary for visiting Museum board members, introduced them to up and coming artists and helped them navigate myriad gallery/museum and Indian Market arts and entertainment options and offerings. I will do the same for my guests this year. Guests will be responsible for their own transportation, hotel and food. Think of me as an "Artist's Whisperer". The 'experience' will start with a get together at my 120 year old adobe home on Thursday August 15th to go over market offerings in detail, as well as off-site events to help you craft the best market experience: Friday - Sunday August 16th - 18th. Then we'll all head over to the Indian Market Kick Off Party (or possibly a private event!) Indian Market can be bewildering; it helps to have an expert listen to what you like and guide you towards unique finds you will enjoy for years to come. I can't wait to share market 2019 with all of you!
I love Indian Market but it can be overwhelming; so much to do, so much to see. How to choose? Every year is different. After spending the last 6 summers at SWAIA, cultivating personal relationships with many award-winning artists, and adding their work to my personal collection, I've realized I've developed a sixth sense when it comes to navigating the market each year. In summer 2018 I shared that with a group from the Montclair Art Museum and have decided to offer that experience to more people this summer. A snapshot of 2018 included meeting Virgil Ortiz (cover artist for SWAIA's 2018 guide with his Pueblo Revolt Series), talking with photographer Cara Romero, whose Coyote Tales #1 won a first place, and watching Preston Singletary blow glass at Blue Rain Gallery. You will be registering for a singular experience tailored for 2019.
