You will be introduced and develop an understanding of approaches and techniques of landscape painting. This will include a range of painting rules with which you will be able to create the best composition and start working with colors. Then with maximum of ten students in the group, you will create your own painting by the end of the workshop. Throughout the activity I will be there to provide support and guidance.
At the end of the workshop, I will give you an individual and personalized critique. It will help you to assesses your work in four areas: color palette, tone values, effort and result.

My name’s Valery and I live in Florence, Italy. I’m a professional artist with over 15 years of experience. I mastered my craft through time at the School of Arts in Latvia, continued in England and settled in Florence at the Repin Academy. My work has appeared in various exhibitions and private collections around Europe, including my most recent solo exhibition “Protagonsti dell Arte” held at Bologna’s Sant’Isaia Gallery in 2018.
I have been running art classes for several years, inspiring and teaching students of all ages to create their own landscape studies and compositions. I’d like to help more people to discover the beauty of Florence through the artist’s eye with this open-air painting workshop. Giving you the chance to take a true piece of Florence home with you, created by your own brush strokes.

We will conduct our workshop at the most scenic place in Florence. Located close to the west side of Piazzale Michelangelo, facing the city, the Rose garden is the perfect place to see an amazing panoramic view of the city. It’s a special place for any artist.

A lovely way to “see” and appreciate the city and its beauty. Our whole family (inc kids aged 15 and 12) joined in, painting in a rose garden that overlooks the city, and although half of us knew little we were all able with the help of the guides to produce paintings we were proud of. Good fun!

We decided to add this special moment in our holidays. Sadly that morning it was raining cats and dogs, we changed meeting point but everything turned out really good. We were in this beautiful piazza with amazing colours. The rain didn't stop us paiting, with the help of Valeria, our 2 amazing artpieces. Valeria helped us the whole way and showed us some tricks.
I would recommend this experience to everyone!
